$15.90 postage stings a little, but still bargains to be had for the BBQ smoker enthusiast.

Postage - damn. Unfortunatly unless you have a massive turnover, and a commitment to Australia post, then prices are uncompetitive. Its ridiculous that a local company slung on eBay, can ship a product to you for $6 including freight.
Australia post charge about 7 to 9$ for a small parcel.
Fastway charge $7.23 for a local delivery.
I just had a quick look, at auspost satchels and for $16, they cover up to 5kg. One thing us receivers don't take into account is the packaging and handling. There will be a fair bit of bubble wrap etc used in this. Especially if you have to but it from Officeworks.
I always allowed at least 10% allowance in my markup when sending product, especially if it was glass.
As a former sbo, you have to cover your costs, and unlike hn/dm/jm, jb, ow, gg, big w, km, you don't necessarily have other profitable depts to offset the loss.
