certainly cheaper than buying hand sanitiser ATM

It seems to me that the alcohol in this actually costs twice as much.

    Sakura vodka:
    1500ml @ 40% = 600ml actual alcohol content for $70 (11.67 per 100ml)

    Brisbane Distillery hand sanitiser:
    500ml @ 80% = 400ml actual alcohol content for $22.41 ($5.61 per 100ml)

it doesn't kill virus even you get drunk or worse with it.
if you want distill it, make sure you get 70-75 percent of alcohol.

Bit of a punt considering the lack of info out there, only needs to be passable at 35 a bottle though

Can anyone comment what this is like in comparison to say Grey Goose?
I get minimal hang overs with Grey Goose compared to the cheaper vodkas

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS AS HAND SANITISER (or any other drinkable spirits). Please tell me that was being said tongue in cheek.

The only thing that would come close isn't even available to buy in Australia as far as I know. The alcohol content is nowhere near high enough to be even remotely effective. You need a MINIMUM of 70% to have any effect on any virus/bacterium (too high is also no good because it flash dries and isn't in contact with the virus/bacterial long enough to break down the lipid cell membrane.

FYI - cheap isopropyl alcohol works fine as well but you need to follow the same rules re %.

You'd need to distil this vodka to a higher percentage to make it useful (which is definitely possible).

Happy to answer any questions anyone has on this if anyone would find it helpful. I'm not pretending to be an expert or to know everything but I do know about this.

    Stay safe out there, folks!

As a general rule for viruses, yes however this study found that 30s exposure to 30% ethanol or isopropyl was sufficient to inactivate COVID-19, actually lower than SARS1 which was inactivated at 35% I believe.

Yeah, got mine delivered ten minutes ago and unsure on what to do. Is there a Dan Murphy's email link to contact?

Idiots! One bottle. Even the description at the site seems to be different - there was definitely pic / description of 2 bottles.
Has anyone made contact with Dan's yet?
