Not sure if this is a deal in normal days. Given hand sanitizer is hard to get at the moment, it might still be a deal to some.

Brisbane distillery is now accepting preorders for hand sanitizer. I think other distilleries around the country are making them too. I hope this will bring plenty of stock soon and end the shortage.

I see quite a few people complaining this being too expensive. I personally don't feel that way. Hand sanitizer is expensive and that's a fact. The 40ml kids pack that we bought for our school age kids costs about $4 from supermarket before this coronavirus pandemic. Hand sanitizer is definitely more expensive than hand wash soap and that's a fact.

      This price looks pretty normal to me for a 500ml hand sanitizer. I don't think they are selling it for zero profit but can you find any hand sanitizer in supermarket? I haven't seen them for weeks. For people who needing them, this could be helpful.

        I know a distillery selling it 1L for $25. I won’t post details yet because the first batch is for healthcare workers. So 500mL for $24.90 is not a bargain.

        This website is about bargains not notification of availability. That can be left to the forums.

        I would also add this is not a certified product AFAIK. So the claims of hospital grade are deceptive and misleading because they have not been accredited to any standard.

        Normal pricing for a 1L hand sanitiser is usually around $15, that's roughly what I normally pay for my business. This is close to double for 1/2 the volume. I'm not saying this is a bad price considering the situation, but the pricing is not normal.

      My. Local chemist also sells 500ml of hand sanitiser for $30. And sells out immediately.

    Compared to other prices I've seen lately this isn't that outrageous - especially if you can't find it anywhere and need it.

    Perhaps all the people complaining about this being too expensive could maybe be a bit more productive and link locations where cheaper in-stock hand sanitiser can be purchased.

    I’ve managed to purchase one 60ml bottle from woolworths in the last month and the last few times I’ve checked they haven’t had any. I just happened to be in the right place at the right time.

    Interesting, I got the 40ml kids pack for $2.50 in the pandemic so you got massively ripped off.
    Normally you can pick them up for a dollar or two.

    Friend works in a pharmacy and got a 500ml hand sanitizer. Cost $8 (RRP - no discounts).

      Requires 60-80% alcohol content.

      Bacardi 151 would work, but has also sold out everywhere now.
      edit: nvm. 151 was discontinued and also much more expensive than this hand sanitiser anyway.

      Maybe. But there is nowhere to get them. Myer had 100mL 10 pack for $60 a few weeks ago and it sold out quickly.

        Without revisionism, reflecting back will show that’s no excuse. It’s a time for collective responsible behaviour. How many pork chops are out there now stocked to the brim with pineapple chunks which they panic bought last week. It won’t happen, but it would be great to do some collective soul searching after this is all over (and it will be soon enough), as to those ready to jump on the “quick buck” bandwagon, and those with altruistic actions without virtue signalling.

    Wanted a few for myself and my family but too bad no delivery available (haven't been able to source any hand sanitiser at all). I see the price being reasonable given the time we're at, facing many uncertainties and Italy and US is a good example of where Australia may be heading toward to with 60000+ confirmed cases. Hand sanitiser has been out of stock for a fair few weeks now and i just can't stand hate given towards this deal and seeing how fellow ozbargainers at this time of urgency complaining about the price and comparing to RRP saving a few dollar!. One can be tight arse in anything but please don't be a tight arse in your own health! and please show some appreciation to op that he even posted this deal risking people downvoting!
