  • Anyone had any experience with these, I have 2 Yeelights and they're great, but haven't been cheap enough for a long time, might jump on a 4 pack of these.

    • Once they are connected, they worked ok. It took me a few attempts to get them connected though (using their app). Then it was a sync (pardon the pun) to link to Google Home. It was quite bright at 100% in a standard size bedroom/study. I set it to 50% most of the time.

  • I would also be interested in user experience.

The only reviews I found other than those on Kogan's site are not encouraging.

    • Couldn't find reviews on this model on Kogan, only for the Ambient RGBW bulb.

      • Individual reviews for the lights in this thread, not sure why they don't have a dedicated review section for each product..

  • Does anyone know how the Kogan RGB+CCT smart bulbs in this deal compare to Kogan RGBW smart bulb here https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/kogan-smarterhome-10w-ambient-r…?

Not sure if its brightness can deliver 1050 lumens as per its description? Bought Smart bulbs on Aliexpress here https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000105837608.html late last year. Advertised 15W (1350 lumens), it turns out to be even dimmer than a normal Philips bulb 800lmn.

The difference is that the latter cannot do daylight white. It was like a 3200K equivalent bulb. As mentioned above, in daylight white, it was quite bright at 100% in a standard size bedroom/study. I set it to 50% most of the time.

  • I've got a couple of these.

Overall they are great value for money. They work well with Google Home and IFTTT (using the Tuya app, not the Kogan one). I've also got some of the filament versions and have found these colour versions to be a bit more stable on WiFi, though that could be down to placement in the house.

Brightness and colour are decent. Not quite as good as my LIFX bulb, but way way cheaper. They are quite large, so you may not want to put them in a shallow fitting/lamp as they may stick out more than a regular bulb. Let me know if anyone has any specific questions I can answer.

    • Thanks for sharing your review. Did you get this exact RGB+CCT version in this deal right?

Can they output 1050lmn as per advertised? You mentioned they're quite large, so I assume they're larger than a 10W-equivalent normal Philips LED?

      • I don't have the equipment to verify 1050lmn ;-) But as mentioned above, in daylight white, it was quite bright at 100% in a standard size bedroom/study. I set it to 50% most of the time.
I do find that once in a while, it loses wifi connection. I have other wifi devices in the same room that did not lose connection. I paid $49/pair a month ago :-(

        • Thanks. How do you compare to a normal Philips LED of the same wattage/lumens? As I've had not a good experience with those bought from Aliexpress as pointed above, which advertised at 15W (1350lmn), but brightness is even dimmer than an 800lmn Philips.

@Bargain Fighter: I have not used Philips LED but I have used other brands. IMHO The Kogan CCT ones are very bright at 100%. The non-CCT ones did not seem as bright at 100%. I would not trust the specs of random brands on Aliex though.

No problem. Yes exact same version.

They get pretty bright - definitely bright enough for me (I usually keep them somewhere between 50% - 80%). I can't say if they output 1050lm, but probably not quite that much. I don't have experience with Philips LEDs to compare sorry.

        • I've ordered some, which Tuya app do you use and do they just find the lights straight up? There is an app called Tuya Smart and the other called Smart Life. I'm also looking to connect these to IFTTT.

          • @yorky: I use Tuya Smart, but I think you can use Smart Life too. These and the Kogan app are all clones of each other (but the Kogan one won't work with IFTTT).

The app gives instructions on how to set up each light. It's pretty easy, though I have found if it isn't working, a router restart usually fixes it.

For IFTTT, there is no Tuya app listed, but the Smart Life one works with the same login you used for Tuya (same backend I believe).

  • anyone knows can i use this with the philips dimmer switch ?

  • I noticed they put up a light strip for sale too. Does anyone ehre know if the light strip can do multiple colours in the same strip (like a gradient)?

  • Anyone order these and actually had them sent? My tracking from the 3rd states the package hasn't even been sent.

  • Been using them for nearly a year. Love em, no issues and gets bright enough. Only gripe is that they are big so some fixtures may not be able to fully cover em. This will not be an issue if its just a light bulb fixture

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=19NFj6CYzr8 gives a decent review and shows what i mean (he can't cover his fan light with the original cover

    • 70x70x133mm. People should check their fixture before buying. I don't thin that would fit mine.
