ah, perfect way to spend my stimulus.

I would avoid this card as it has track record signature required on purchase, which many business is not accepting anymore

Pay council rates, top up utility balance in $100(s).

Or $105.26 Wish eGC, still works last week.

      • Reminder: For most utility bills, there is an extra fee for credit card payment

      • Can you use wish eGC in Coles? And where the 5.25 in fee?

        • +2

Buy a 5% off Wish eGC from Shopback/Cashrewards.

$105.26 * 95% =$100, wipe the balance in one transaction.

@Neoika: No offended ,really interested on how can you use Woolworths gift card in Coles?

Plus 1 for the finding OP

            • +1

@SnoozeAndLose: I think @Neoika is referring to using $100 Vanilla Visa Card to buy $105.26 Wish eGift card which cost $100 when the 5% discount is applied.

Coles doesn't accept WLW gift card as payment.

    • This isn't my experience at all. Extremely easy to use these cards.

  • +5

    Warning to everyone:
Unlike Coles Mastercard, this Vanilla Visa doesn't come with a PIN
given 99% of physical stores nowadays don't provide a signature option, you can only use this card for online shopping in most cases

    • My local Hungry Jacks EFTPOS machine does not ask PIN for Coles Prepaid MasterCard, only signature. I don't see it is an issue.

    • Maybe use for tap and go under $100?

      • +1

Don't think these have an nfc chip.

      • +1

No chip for this prepaid card, no tap and go.

    • This isn't true. You don't need a PIN. Just select credit when in store.

    • I've been using US credit cards consistently for the last 6-7 years since the chip and pin laws came into place.

Every time my US credit card asks for a signature. Not once has it been an issue.

Literally thousands of transactions with absolutely 0 times that a physical store would not take my card.

    • I used One Visa which also has a signature no pin in Coles a few weeks ago and no problem. The operator at the assisted checkout knew what to do and had me sign on a special piece of paper.

  • Op curious where did you find the screen shot?

This card has so many bad reviews… Stay away…

    • Already wiped the full balance of 5 Vanilla bought a few weeks ago, no issue at all.

Reviews were written by noobs obviously.

      • +1

Agree. If you don't know how to use these cards in store then just don't buy them.

    • Those reviews are associated with a previous time when the card attracted non use fees. This no longer occurs.

  • Is it just me or does it seem like a lot of effort for $4.05 worth of Flybuys dollars?

    • +2

      It's not you. It is

    • +2

If you already shop at Coles, it isn't that much effort. And it's not always about the Flybuys dollars.

  • flybuy policy applies

  • What is the Limit?

    • One per flybuys account

      • -2

        Thanks, not worth it.

  • +1

Would you worry during this period some gift card company may bankruptcy? then the card become worthless?

ref Excludes $25, $50 and $250 Vanilla Visa Gift Cards. its pity i planned on buying the $250 card to pay off my ato debt. ref "BONUS POINTS can only be collected once per Gift Card type and will not be awarded more than once for each Gift Card type including different denominations of the same Gift Card." so does this mean 1 per transaction or 1 per household account? ref "different denominations "" so does it mean the $250 card will be ok? its clear as mud the terms.

  • Unfortunately I am not going into any stores right now.

  • +1

Seems to be heaps of all denominations in my area

    • +2

I don't think anyone's actively looking for them at this time what with social distancing and minimising trips and all ;)

      • Good point

Wish they'd get rid of the one pet account limit ;)

        Wishful thinking

  • Anyone found where they can still source discounted Coles gift cards?

    • +1

      AGL good guys nib reward
