Looking for Chromebook Sub $500

Chromebooks are in pretty short supply, so as expected the deals are seemingly non existent.

Does anyone have insight when the stock levels might cheer up? Or spied any good deals lately?

    Ebay

What are you struggling to find?

    • +1

It seems like the prices are ~$100 higher then they have been on the $399 jobbies. Makes me not want buy them that high.

If there were more coming in soon, I thought that they would drop.

So, your title is depective. You can find them, you just can't find them on special. Though such is the variation in brands and models that we can't help you to find 1 at a good price.

Try narrowing it down, look for it yourself, and then ask for a better price.

        Don't expect to be spoon-fed

        • It wasn't my intention to deceive of be spoonfed. I have looked ALOT.

If you read my post I said DEALS are nonexistent and asked if anyone had insight on stock levels that might lead to deals…

"insight when the stock levels might cheer up"

If you would like me to adjust the title please suggest a better one.

@kevitkotw: "Any Good Deals for an Acer Chromebook 14" 64GB Sub-$500?"

                You know… specifics.

Last I checked there's more than 1 variant.

@spackbace: This is Ozbargain, isn't it safe to assume op is looking for deals?

I think it's perfectly fine to ask for help to find a Chromebook that suits your budget. It's not like we're running out of internet.

                  • @Tinqer:

                    running out of internet

The internet might run out? Should I panic-buy and stockpile?

                  • -1

                    @Tinqer:

                    that suits your budget.

Which I found, according to the title. Finding them is a piece of cake. The question is a) if it's a big enough discount, and b) if it's the right spec. We're not talking a specific thing here, there's multiple brands, CPUs, screen size, storage etc.

Is it too much to ask for some research, or some narrowing down so we can help?

Hell, the latest thought is over the set budget anyway lol

  • Am thinking to get a lenovo c340 for around 399.

Only thing is seems low stock and could take 4 weeks or more to deliver

    • Yeah it's prob the best I've seen as well. It has been so much cheaper though.

The s340 is 399 Good Guys Ebay. It's 499 on their website. I would go for that but no touchscreen.

      • Then get the c340. Touchscreen for 399

It's been cheaper before so if u want to wait for a sale I'm sure it will come again

Myself: "Yo! Remember that time during Caronavirus when you couldn't find a bargain so you asked the .com.au of bargain hunters to help?"

Myself B: "Yeah I do! One of the celebrities of the site decided to reply…"

Myself: "That's right, I was kinda excited to see that. Then I realised he made some silly assumption about you/me because the title to him seemed insufficient."

Myself B: "Caronavirus be causing all kinds of disfunction."

You've been isolated for too long.

      • I'd probably have more sanity if I could find a bargain on a Chromebook.

Learning With Technologies is an education/gov't supplier with Chromebooks.

Try this search to see what they've got - if asked, set your 'type' as education, K-12, Catholic/independent to see their full Chromebook range.

I've used them before to buy a single Chromebook at a time, and whilst I did use our NFP details to register I know they also sell direct to parents etc. So you shouldn't have any problems after your account is setup.

  • Found this:
    https://www.umart.com.au/HP-12-3in-2K-IPS-Touch-M3-7Y30-64GB…

CPU is well faster than the $400 ones. $559 is still a bit high maybe, but 8gb / 64gb is a chunk more?
