Hi OP - any deals on the Lumus?

    • Hey there! I am afraid Lumus is not available at the moment.

Can anyone recommend these? Are these good for a first time buyer who want to set up something quick and easy but have potential for upgrade? Cheers

Bought one on sale around Christmas time and i highly recommend it. Easy to set up, app works well. I’d recommend getting the solar panel so you don’t have to charge it but if you don’t, the battery last ages anyway.

Yeah, I rate them. I'm currently got 6 Reolink wireless cameras (1 x Argus PT, 2 x Argus 2, 1 x Argus Pro & 2 x Argus Eco) mounted around my house. They are pretty good, obviously not as good as a 1080P 4MP wired system but these are really easy to setup and it takes about 15-30 mins per camera to mount depending if you are also installing a solar panel.

I watched a whole heap of review videos before I purchased them as I originally was going to go with an ARLO system but these cameras pissed all over them. I'll add some youtube links to help you decide.

Also you can normally buy these particular models new for $105.59, so it isn't a massive saving.

    • I have 4 of these. 2 run off solar panels. They work fine, cloud upload isn't free though but you can store your videos locally so it's ok. Would of loved 5ghz wifi but oh well.

I have the Argus Eco with apparently better motion detection but the cameras motion detection is quite bad with A LOT of false positives and horrible mounts. Contacted support and they were quite clueless. Camera also has color issues ( greens turn into pinks when switching day/night mode automatically ) they said will fix months ago but still not fixed. Can only recommend this camera if it's going to be pointed at an area with minimal direct sunlight (Seems like these cameras are designed for cold climates as I think hot surfaces trigger them yet dose not explain dead still night false alerts) on the surfaces of the area and movement from plants. AKA only indoors or for capturing movement at close proximity outdoors unless you want a ton of false alerts.

Which one is the best among all Reolink wireless cameras? They have few different models.

Argus 2 would be the best camera in the Reolink wireless range as it incorporates the Starlight CMOS Image Sensor which ultimately gives it slightly better night vision. The Argus Pro only comes with a standard camera mount while the Argus 2 comes with a standard camera mount as well as an additional magnetic mount. I personally prefer to use the magnetic mount as it makes the camera easier to adjust & quicker to remove when recharging. The only consideration you need to take when using the magnetic mount is that you may want to mount it a reasonable height so that it can't be easily stolen by someone.

  • Are these sent via AP?

  • I’ve got the Reolink Argus 2. Got it super cheap with a solar panel for $110 when they had a Christmas sale.

Personally I find it really good; image is clear and it captures motions without a lot of false positives. The solar panel keeps it charged at 100%, so no hassles there, and you don’t require a home hub. App is quite stable but the biggest negative - you can only have 1 camera on free cloud upload (Arlo gives you 6 I think). I think that’s pretty stingy TBH - as realistically who only has 1 camera for their house?!
