Australian Merino Sheepskin Rug Ivory - Large 100cm - $69 with Free Shipping (RRP $119) @ Yellow Earth

170
OZB3

Our ivory Merino Sheepskin rug (Large - Size 100cm) is currently on sale at $69 with Free Shipping.

We usually sell these rugs at $119 so this price is a great opportunity to buy and have delivered home.

The size of this rug is approximately 100cm length x 65cm wide. As some of our previous OzBargain customers may have noticed, we are quite conservative with our sizing, and actual rug may be slightly larger. We measure our rugs from the pelt (leather) side only, and do not measure the wool fibres that extend out, which would increase all dimensions by at least a further 10cm.

These are perfect to put around the house, or if you've been working from home recently, you may be looking for additional comfort for your bottom!

As an exclusive deal for OzBargain, we are offering free shipping using the code 'OZB3' when checking out. We dispatch all orders within 1-2 business day from our warehouse in Mitcham 3132

If you have any questions, please feel free to comment below or PM me and I will be doing my best to respond ASAP as I have in previous deals.

Paypal now accepted.

Care instructions:

Cold wash using a Woolskin Shampoo, dry in the shade, or otherwise professional dry-clean.

We offer a specially formulated Woolskin Shampoo on our website which is also eligible for free shipping with the exclusive code above. You can view this product here

If you are local in Melbourne, you are welcome to pick up from our warehouse outlet with prior notice (subject to change). We are located at 632 Mitcham Road, and open during the hours of Monday-Friday 9am - 5pm.

For anyone interested in knowing a little bit more about us as a company, here is a brief overview:

We’ve been running for almost 30 years in Melbourne. The business started out as a Sheepskin tannery back in the 90’s in Melbourne, which tanned and manufactured a large range of sheepskin products, (think moccasins, Ugg boots, rugs, baby care products, car seat covers etc). Initially, we were manufacturers for private labels only and supplied to a number of national retailers as well as small businesses around Australia. Due to economic changes, we had to move most of our manufacturing overseas as it wasn’t viable to continue.

We still continue to purchase our raw sheepskin hides here in Melbourne and have them tanned overseas under strict quality control measures.
Over the last few years, we have been introducing our own brand name and selling direct to consumers.

We support local Australian ugg boot manufacturers by supplying them with ‘double-face sheepskin’, which is the industry name for sheepskin hides used to manufacture ugg boots.

We still continue to manufacture a range of footwear and tailor-made sheepskin car seat covers here in Mitcham, Victoria. You're welcome to visit us and we can show you through what we do here. Our small team here in Mitcham have collectively been in the industry for a long time.

We’re really passionate about sheepskin, so if you have any questions, we’d be happy to do our best to answer.

    Not again.

    • We thought we'd post a smaller sized rug as our first deal sold out and we had to stop the deal much earlier than expected. We received a few messages from people who had missed out on it, so we did our best to secure stock for a similar priced item and therefore sharing this deal.

Our other deal is for a larger rug at a higher price point so may not be for everyone.

Can you do a deal on the XXXL size?

  • Not accepting Paypal?

      EDIT:
We took a look at setting up Paypal and can happily say we now accept Paypal on our website! :)

  • Could you have two straps sewn on for it to become a car seat cover?

    • It is possible to sew 2 straps to it, but we would not sell them as car seat covers as it may affect your side airbags. Straps could be stitched to put it over a chair at home.
We could sew Velcro straps onto them for an additional cost. You can PM with the strap length you require and we can take it from there.

We make sheepskin car seat covers in Mitcham which are side airbag compatible, but it's not as simple as just sewing 2 straps to the car. If you're interested, please give us a call on Monday on 8813 6927 and we can assist

      • I did note that option but I am in 4116, QLD. My car is 2001 and has no side airbags so that is a non-issue in this case. I will think about what you have said and possibly PM tomm.

No worries, happy to assist in anyway possible if it's by using these rugs with straps or through our car seat covers.
Here's our webpage link on our car seat covers. Yellow Earth Car seat covers
We've added a photo gallery so you can see what they look like.

  • Are these rugs made in Australia or China?

    • I mean the sheep were born in Australia and identify as Australian, but now they live in China.

    • +5

Thanks for your question, these rugs are tanned overseas in China using our Australian sheepskins which we export and under our Australian team's guidance.

I'll add a brief introduction about our business to the listing description above, and i'll mention it here as well in case you were interested:

      • So sending skins to china for them to be tanned by Chinese, then returning them back to Australia is cheaper than just doing it here…
Well, at least no need to worry about pollution.

        • +2

Not always cheaper after factoring the additional time from the business purchasing the raw skins, exporting, manufacturing, importing, selling, giving credit terms to wholesale customers, etc. The cycle is almost 180 days from purchase of raw skins to actually selling.

The business is looking at restarting a tannery in Melbourne in the next few months to increase local manufacturing on certain products which are viable.

        • Although even most people and govs think China is on different planet, we are all still part of the same one. Bizarre, but true :D

  • Hi OP,
Could you do a deal for coloured XL rug like below? Thanks
    https://yellowearth.com.au/collections/long-wool-sheepskin/p…

    • Hi there,
They are reduced to $88 which is our sale price.
      Thanks

  • How often does this need to be cleaned? And for durability, would dry cleaning suffice or is the Woolskin Shampoo necessary? Thanks

    • Hi there,
It totally depends on each individual in regards to how often they need to be cleaned.
The Woolskin shampoo is recommended as the formula also cleans and refreshens the leather side as well. It makes it easier to wash at home.

      If Dry-cleaning, we'd recommend a professional dry-cleaner.

In terms of durability, we haven't had any issues with either cleaning methods.

  • Great info and thorough replies - thanks for the deal OP

    • No worries - it's the least we can do whilst our retail stores are quiet during this period in time.

  • Has this expired now?

It is not recognising this code as valid for me.

    • +1

Thanks for your comment, the code OZB3 should be working again now - i just fixed the issue.
We extended this deal by a week and free postage will end on 19th April.
