Cheap yes, but made in China. Not my first choice for dairy related products

  • Which coles in Doncaster?

    • Sorry, it’s the Coles at Westfield. I’ve just updated the post to make it clearer.

  • Probably just trying to clear out stock so they can keep the shelves looking empty to encourage more panic buying /s

No thanks made in China these are. Buy food made in Australia

    • You'll want 100% made in Australia food because those who aren't and use common ingredients like gluten are getting it from China.

why always so many "made in China" comments in M&M's post ?
doesn't appear in any other chocolates' post, what did M&M do to upset so many ppl ?

    • Moved production to China.

I try to avoid any food coming from China, where I can, but especially milk related products such as chocolate so it's not M&Ms in particular

          • @King Tightarse: no offence, there ar lots of post about "especially milk related products coming from China" here, but i don't c any hate comments else where.

            • @samelight: Well saying you avoid something isn't really hating it, is it?
Personally I love Chinese food but that milk scandal really shocked me and large numbers of Chinese people source their baby milk formula here in Australia, so that tells me that they also think Chinese milk products are not always safe

              • @King Tightarse: im not saying u hating it,
just a bit curious when i keep seeing ppl mentioning "made in China" in M&M's post and not others.

@samelight: Fair enough. Perhaps people are surprised that production was quietly shifted there as its a Mars product and was always made in Ballarat. Like a sneaky move on Mars' part to save money

                • @samelight: People nearly always mention product origin in snickers deals.
People often mention product origin in Oreo deals.
People mention product origin in flipz deals.

        • So which other chocolate gets posted on ozbargain that is made in china?

          • @wog_ta: I think someone said that the Kmart Easter eggs are made in China

            • @King Tightarse: I bought some cheap Kmart $0.25 rabbits, they are made in Germany. Genuinely curios.

@wog_ta: Cadbury ar made in China too right ? all those easter eggs and bunnies.
            but no hate comments there!

            • @samelight: Cadbury ones I bought from Kmart are made in Australia, maybe others?

              • @wog_ta: ar u sure ? coz im looking at the bunny from last year it said made in China,
and also the snickers/Mars bar ar made in China too.

it mind depends on where u bought it…

                • @samelight: Just double checked to be sure. None of the Chocolate I bought today, both Cadbury and more generic K-mart brand were made in China.

Only thing made in china was a rabbit shaped gummy lolly.

@wog_ta: maybe we don't have any this year due to the COVID-19?
from what i remember Cadbury moved to China long ago, even longer then M&M,
in 2008 they recalls their chocolate from Australia due to the chinese milk scandal.

                • @samelight: Snickers are made in China hence why no one buys them mars r made in Australia

    • why does your comment have negs… it's just a normal question and i'm curious too

  • China made or not, These taste great and I would have taken them all if I was there

  • I just paid $2.40 on clearance at Coles Palmerston, NT. Ripped off!!
