The offer is applicable to the following gift cards:
      * Catch
      * Best Restaurants

  • 20% off Catch gift cards are pretty damn tempting.
They can be used with promo codes too I'm assuming.

    • I believe they can. There’s a limit of 5 cards per transaction iirc

    • Wonder if it'd stack with the "$15 off $35 spend when paying with Latitute" offer.

      • Well, If you had at least $35 worth not paid by gift cards it would be worth a shot?

      • Unfortunately not.

As soon as you enter the gift card code and pin the Latitude option disappears.

    • Stack with Unidays 10% student discount.

      • Unidays has run out of the codes.

        • +1

Not for the next 3 years I'll bet.

      • Can we confirm that it is stackable?

        • Yes it is stackable.

  • -5

Added Catch $50 card to cart but still showing $50.

    • +10

      In 2 days…

    • +2

Forgive me people, just noticed it is in 2 days!

      • +15

Nah thats one of the OZB spirits, buy first and read later.

    • start from 08/04, two days to go

    • +7

      There's always a Catch.

    • even i thought i could do that…but i had just completed both the DARK (Netflix) seasons

  • +8

20% is very nice, however do not stock too much as there is not many items worth buying at catch.
Also better to use when you are targeted like xx off when you spend xx

    • +3

True. I still have mine and I regret that I bought it. The price at Catch are not that appealing to begin with. Probably just gonna use it for buying sim card.

    • There's 3 years to use them?
Even if 2 years onward I find nothing to buy, I could sell them for 20% off easily and at least get my money back.

      • 3 years to use them

your confidence in them sticking around is inspiring. What do they have over Amazon and eBay?

        • +1

They've been around since 2006. Recently they have been shamelessly price jacking antibacterial essentials (etc) which is delivering them nice profits. I don't think they're heading anywhere anytime soon.
The trouble more lies in if they're going to have reasonable prices. They've got some bargains still yes, but those are getting fewer and fewer.
However, it's a risk I'm willing to take.

          • @pennypincher98: Didn't they get bought out by Wesfarmers? I'm pretty sure that my son who works at Target said that he gets staff discount on that site now.
That's an idea too…25% off the GC, then staff discount as well. Wonder what else it could stack with…

            • @MCPokey: Not sure where you got 25% off GC from, the rate is 20% and you won't be able to get any further discounts on the gift card. Afaik you can only enter one coupon so unidays (when they stock again) has 10% off Catch codes.
But if the staff discount is a code - you won't be able to stack it with anything.

  • +9

Has anyone else notice Catch pricejacking around the time of these gift card deals? I watch the weber price on their site and it always goes up when they run the promo at Coles/Woolies.

    • +1

Can't you hold out for a while using them as you have 3 yrs to use them lol .

      • Yeah definitely. Just wasn't sure if it was a widespread thing as I only really check that one item and not super religiously.

    • +5

I've not noticed that but what is clear is that they have gone wild with price jacking during this crisis. Even with the 20% off you're going to struggle to find much at cheaper prices compared to 4 weeks ago. We had $1500 in vouchers from the last 15% off voucher deal and have struggled to spend them. Despite all of that it's still tempting at 20% off.

    • +6

Catch has been pricejacking since they were taken over by Wesfarmers.

      • Didn’t realise they were taken over by Wesfarmers. When was this?

          • @Lord Fart Bucket: Makes sense now. Wondered why there no great specials and even regular prices are so much higher. Couple years ago Catch was decent. Now it's just like a full priced Costco.

          • +1

@Lord Fart Bucket: Catch was eating into the sales of Kmart, Target, Officeworks etc but once they added groceries Wesfarmers decided to buy them out…of course now the threat is removed and are so the good deals. Most grocery prices are identical to Coles!

            • @MrMaxwell: Also, WF wanted their tech for their MarketLink "initiative". That's where the Wesfarmers/Bunnings "brains trust" decided to take the Bunnings website and fill it full of 3rd party crap that you can't get instore and just irritates the bejesus out of customers when they're just trying to see what's available instore.

Yes, you can click the "instore only" filter, but it gets really old really fast when it resets every.single.search.

You'd think after losing over a billion dollars failing to enter the UK market they might have realised that annoying your customer base by shoving unwanted stuff down their throats was not a winning move. You'd be wrong.

Hope the Best Restaurants card can be used for takeaway or home delivery.

    • Best Restaurants

Perhaps name should be changed to “Some Takeaway Restaurants”

  • +2

Would the catch gift card work with catch connect for a 365 day mobile plan?

    • +1

Yes. I've bought CatchConnect sim with unidays 10% and discounted gift cards.

    • Yes it will. Fingers crossed for a deal on 365 plans this EOFY.

  • +5

    20% of Best Restaurants

    Lol

    • No takeaways options?

  • +6

Catch deals have gone downhill a lot. Used to get some amazing bargains, but less and less so - not sure if it is to do with the Wesfarmers acquisition. Struggling to use up the last lot of gift cards I got at 20% off.

PS - Unidays 10% discount has not been available for over a week, so can't stack:

"Out of codes We've temporarily run out of codes for Catch. We've raised this issue with them and will be receiving more codes soon. Please check back shortly."

    • This , when they started they had great proper catch of the day deals. Now its just a RRP shop.

    • +1

Years ago, I used to buy something from Catch every month. It has been more than a year since I bought anything from them. 20% discount is definitely an amazing deal if you already have something you want from Catch. Else you may need to sit on the GC for a while.

  • +1

Can Catch be used for Catch Connect?

  • What's Catch good for these days? Beer? Be good to save on some cartons!

    • Just check that they deliver to you though, never accepts our Gold Coast address.

    • +1

Definitely! I have bought beer from them before and I had a quick look last night and the range has expanded. There seems to be some connection with Booze bud now selling via Catch. What style are you interested in?

  • +2

    Best Restaurants Gift Cards

They are a horrible company and bad idea to buy, but good luck!

    • Its in the tittle but believe me even if the pandemic wasn't going on they are going to have little interest .

  • Does Catch still do discounts on Target pickup?
a lot of deals kills by their delivery cost
Target pickup is a good alternative to the Catch Connect

    • +1

Bought some Havianas from them a week back and they offered free C&C at Target still.

  • +1

Problem with catch is there slow delivery times at the moment ordered items om March 18 still waiting for it to be delivered.

    • Same here. Mine has not been dispatched yet. Would prefer to cancel now but there seems no way to do this. Won't use them again.

  • Appears that I cannot use a Catch gift card to buy a Netflix gift card. Right?

  • Thanks OP

  • Hi guys, can you use shopback/cashback when using Catch Giftcard? Thanks

    • +1

Cashback is not qualified for purchases paid fully with gift cards

      • +1

So if you pay partially with giftcards, does cashback apply to the whole purchase or only the part paid by credit card/not giftcard?

  • can i purchase 7 x $100 cards and pay for a $750 (+$50 credit card) item or is it 1 (ONE) gift card per transaction

  • +1

Some decent deals on iPhone 8 64GB hopefully they won't jack up the price

    • +1

Rumor is iPhone 9 might be around the corner

      • -1

Yea and so is the iPhone 12 next year whats your point ?

        • +2

The price will decrease when iPhone 9 is announced.
If you’re willing to wait 2 days + delivery, you mustn’t be in immediate need of a phone.

    • Had a quick look, is that the refurbs? I couldn't see any new stock

  • +1

anyone know if can you use the catch gift card on catch connect prepaids ?

  • thanks OP. Bummer, planning on buying a Breville coffee machine ($800+), buying 5x $100 gift cards not enough to cover the cost :(

    • You'd still save $100?

But it may be cheaper during a sale.

      • Yup waiting for a The Good Guys ebay sale itll be 20% off the entire price, and significantly cheaper, no rush

  • +10

Ah this is great, I had some very nice gentlemen from Microsoft call me up saying I was getting a refund because they're going out of business. But when they were asking me to enter in the refund amount I accidentally hit an extra zero and they transferred me $10000 instead of $1000. So the nice young man is telling me he's going to get fired and the only way he can keep is job is if I give him $9000 worth of gift vouchers.

    • +1

If what you have stated above is true, You are being used as a money mule by the hackers.

      • +2

If what you have stated above is true

        Lol

    • "they're going out of business."

Wait for Bill Gates to comment lol

  • Score. I was going to buy something off eBay today (Oz Plaza) for $309, but they have the same product and presumably same seller (Daily Plaza) for $317. $55 saving in a couple days!

  • Haha guys u better

  • Buy giftcards and complete this targeted deal/task meanwhile.

  • Can you use giftcards for Catch Marketplace sellers?

  • Can more than 1 gift card be used as payment on Catch?

    • +1

      see above.

    • Up to 5 max .

  • Shame Ozgameshop isn't on Catch marketplace anymore, that's where I spend the gift cards.

  • Does it work with Marketplace?

  • When they stock the switch again it will be good to stock up for that?

  • Entire cart has been jacked between 10-50%.
Not sure whether to bother, but I'm sure they'll have something worth buying in the next 3 years.

  • I have never used PayPal gift cards before, could someone tell me if I can use them to split a payment on Catch? Say I bought $200 worth of gift cards in this sale, can I use a different payment method for the remaining balance of my purchase?

    Thanks!

    • +1

Yes, I have done this many times.

    • Yes, I just did it this morning

  • Does the giftcard last for 3 years, can you use coupon/voucher in conjuction with the giftcard?

  • 12 month expiry
