    • ohh. forgot about that. Im in Sydney =D

    • +6

world doesn't revolve around the east coast all the time :P

      • +2

yeah but… MOST of the time!

sorry Perth… maybe making a new country before federation was a good idea!

        :)

  • damn it, this is a god offer. Too bad I got my 3TB hard drive from the other deal

  • Decent deal, I'd buy except I still haven't opened the two 2TB ones I got for $79 a few weeks ago!

  • +1

Pity you offer this when most of us is at work…

  • +8

I've got less than 30 mins to wait for a $1 Jetstar fare to WA before I can get one of these.

  • +4

I wonder if OW on the Gold Coast will price match?

    • OW ON GC PM NP IN WA BY 5:30 WST?

      LOL!

  • i bought the same drive for a pvr for $49 in sydney, this deal is 10 buck less but given the really short notice, is your sanity(or drivers licence!) worth 10 bucks?!

    • +2

I can assure you that you did not buy the same drive for $49 anywhere. However, I do agree, there is no need to do anything too reckless to get to a deal, doesn't matter how good it is :)

      • +1

@netplus want to bet on that? because i've still got the receipt to prove it!

        • +4

Hahaha! OK, I lose! I truly would not believe someone could have done it for that… Send through your receipt & address details to [email protected] and we will send you a free Nike Intel Polo Shirt. :)

        • +1

thanks netplus! i'll be sure to keep a close eye on your future offers ;)

        • Thought yours was a SATA2 as soon as you said $39. First thing I noticed about this deal was that it was SATA3.

        • +1

          No shirt for you! :)

        • @ozhunter, you should change your dp to:

          http://blogs.villagevoice.com/forkintheroad/S7S06_The_Soup_N…

          for dramatic effect :P

        • @Maltopia
SATA2/SATA3… no difference for a drive like this. Time to read-up.

      • How sure is your assurance?

        http://www.zipcomputers.com.au/store/view_product.php?produc…

Although most places have it for more, assuring him he didn't get it for that's a bit weird.

        • i got mine from Excel http://www.excelcomputers.com.au/product_info.php?cPath=30&p… still $49 if someone wants a low power/cool running hdd for a pvr

        • I get it now - those are WD10EARS which are SATA2. Those had been discountinued for at least 2 months. Any remaining stocks would be either aging or RMA stocks.

        • lol, I'm pretty sure rep might know what the cost price is for the drives and this offer might be @cost price which is why rep didn't believe him.

As stated below green drive is SATA2 while this deal was SATA3

        • +2

Ah. Of course there's no actual performance difference between the SATA3 and SATA2 models, since even their peak rates don't come close to the limits of SATA2.

        • From what I've read, even 10000rpm drives don't use the full Sata I capability. So yeah, Sata II, Sata III, it doesn't matter.

They advertised this on facebook around 15 minutes before it expired… Almost impossible to get this deal unless you just happened to be wandering near the store…

    • +1

Did you not read the first few comments?

They gave over two hours notice.

      • oh… wasn't aware they were in Perth… I'll remove them from my facebook then, pretty pointless seeing their posts if i can't get their deals…

        • +1

They recently did their first cheap shipping deal: http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/52241

Up until then they had only had a flat rate that would be great if you were ordering a complete set of parts for a PC, but terrible for small items. Hopefully they do more of these low postage options in the future.
