UPDATE: call ahead to check stock level and if you can, click ‘pick up’ if available as an option. When you put your pick up order in, they’ll let you know if it’s available to pick up. That way you don’t waste your time going out.

Limit of 1 per person.
Placed a pick up order of the Lemon & White Citrus scented version this morning about 9am. Tried to search it up again but seems to have been taken off the website. Only the Cherry Blossom one left.
Place an order before noon to have it ready after 4pm BUT I got a text message just over an hour after placing order saying my pick up order was ready for collection. Given they're not very busy in this current situation, I suspect they can process pick up orders much more quickly.

As of posting @10:30am, stock shows available for pick up AND in-store @ Top Ryde, Macquarie and Merrylands (these are the ones near me, I haven't searched for other areas).

  • NA in most northern Perth suburbs :(

    • :( I think it's just a hit and miss. Maybe check back every few days to see when they have stock. I only came across this by chance.

      • Yeah I've been watching it for a while and I seem to be in an area where stockpiling is still happening :(

        • Yeah, I haven't seen hand sanitiser at my local Coles in over a month since the panic buying started. I bought a pack of hand wipes from Aldi until I read the ingredients and realised it said 'alcohol free'… I would like to keep one in my car for when I go grocery shopping and have to touch trolleys and baskets.

    • Only store in Armadale WA has stocks for anyone interested

    More than $60/l no thanks

Yeah these are very small. We have some for bushwalking but they were like 50c from the reject shop a few months back. Good for a small one to put in your bag I guess

      • The bush is unsanitary?

        • +3

The things one does in the bush are unsanitary…

          • @yupyup: I wonder though if its more unsanitary than living in a urban city with millions of other people.

        • If you go for a 6 hour walk you are going to need to do a bush wee at some point ;) Sanitising hands is better than nothing if you dont have access to a tap.

    • Paid $1.50 each when those 3 big W were closing down. Bought a few but now down to 1 bottle.

Thanks! Made an order for Top Ryde store :)

Lemon & White Citrus is available in few stores

    • Nice. I guess I got one out of the last few ones left at Top Ryde. It shows Pick Up available in Merrylands and Macquarie. And for Top Ryde, it is In store only.

  • in stock at Big W Sunshine, Melbourne but I got there couldn’t find any, out of stock already -(

Tried the hand wash of the Japanese blossom and it stinks, smells overwhelming. Given great delight when we finish the tub. Real Japanese blossom smells good.

    • Yes I have this and yep don't eat right after, it is stronger than a handcream!

    • I'm guessing, if an alcohol based sanitiser doesn't stink, it isn't effective.

  • This is just like the soap, smells nice at first but you ll get sick of it really quick as it's so overwhelming. Be careful if you are sensitive to smells

Can you all please stop upvoting these in-store-only Big W deals before anyone has even gone in store?

Big W online stock numbers are always completely wrong.

Happens every time: an hour or two later people who have actually been there start posting and (shock) once again there's no stock anywhere, and there never was.

You are encouraging people to go to Big W during quarantine for an imaginary deal.

    • +1

I would suggest people call ahead. I’ll make that clearer in my description

    • +1

I've seen this before with KMart too, didn't know that BigW couldn't keep their stock levels correct either. Ridiculous.

    Negging for issue with product.

Plastic micro beads are absolutely not necessary, especially in a hand sanitiser.

These are guaranteed to end up in the ocean, which the fish eat, which i then eat.

    • +2

I looked into this and apparently they stopped using microbeads since 2014.

      Source: https://www.colgatepalmolive.com/en-us/core-values/our-polic…

"Colgate-Palmolive used microbeads in a limited number of oral care and personal care products to enhance aesthetics and aid in cleaning. However, some groups raised concerns regarding the potential contribution of microbeads to pollution of the world’s oceans. Recognizing that consumers have questions, as of year-end 2014 we stopped using microbeads."

      • good find

        • I mean the picture is pretty clear there is some sort of small bead in the product.

I will revoke if someone can unequivocally prove these are biodegradable.

I trust Colgate Palmolive about as far as i can throw a hippo.

@[Deactivated]: I thought the beads disintegrate (that they were just a tiny globs of perfumed liquid or whatever) one you rub your hands together. The whole point with microbeads is to exfoliate.. which is not what sanitiser is designed to do.

          • @[Deactivated]: Those aren't beads. The ones we are worried about are much smaller. Good to be diligent though

    • You probably eat 99% farmed fish so you should be ok. The issue stands for marine life though.

      • +1

        I 99% don't. I catch my own.

        • +1

          Point taken. Good on you.

This is no good for covid19

    • +2

No good for your wallet or humanity.

    over $60/L
    No deal.

  • +4

IMHO, you'd have to have rocks in your head to risk your health and venture into a store to secure a crappy little bottle of this stuff. STAY AT HOME.

    • +2

yep, especially for this crappy stuff. It's not even proper sanitiser

  • +2

We are emailing you to let you know that we are unable to supply the below item/s as they were unavailable at the time of processing your order.

    🥴🥴🥴

  • +3

This "sanitiser" will only make your hands smell nice. It won't actually help to rid your hands of COVID-19. You need a hospital grade sanitiser with a high alcohol content. This stuff is not good for what most people need Sanitiser for right now.

  • Rip off.

  • what a rip off! The chemical shops has big bottles to be used by customers for free but not for sale… $3 order and $7.5 shipping…
