      Automatic v Solar.
      Silicone band v stainless steel.
      Seiko v Citizen.

      • true true, I prefer stainless steel than silicon/leather :), also 60 bucks cheaper

    • +1

the one you ordered looks pretty sweet though - horses for courses

    • +1

wow.. thats pretty nice though.. was about to commit to the seiko before i saw this

      • I love Automatic but prefer stainless steel bracelet, still thinking about getting the Seiko too lol

        • +1

Just get it and get an aftermarket quality bracelet if you want it!
Its such a good price for what it is.

    • +1

That watch is SO different to the Seiko that nobody could blame you for buying both.

    • +1

this is a better build quality than seiko.
I own several seikos and 1x citizen eco drive - I am extremely happy with all of them, you cant go wrong with either of those

      • +2

I love Omega but prefer not to change battery hence been using Eco-Drive watches from Citizen for a while now

  • Excellent price. Just swap out the band if you don't like it.

    • +1

The band is absolutely atrocious eh?

bought one, couldn't resist this low price

    • Yep, same here. Been eyeing on one for a while and at this price, just cant resist. :)

      • agree, I have a green SRPD61k i will use it bracelet on this one, while a strapcode jubilee bracelet bough of amazon when arrive will go on the green Seiko

        • Cool, ive got a jubilee strapcode on my old skx009. Will try it on and see how it looks.

          • @Meque: your skx strapcode wont fit on the Seiko 5, you will need to change the spring bar on your current strapcode to a curved one to fit on the Seiko 5

            • @Forcf: Really? Thanks for letting me know!

Thanks OP. "bought one, couldn't resist this low price"

  • Great price on a 5 series.

I paid about the same for my SKX007, and IMO it is a far better looking watch, not to mention extra 100m water resistance and comes on a stainless steel band. Cant understand why they discontinued it.

    • +5

I was looking for skx007 for a month searched everywhere from eBay to Amazon to overseas sellers. the cheapest i can get is 500$, im not a diver and will not need a 200m water resistance watch, this new Seiko 5 has better dial(SKX have flat hour markers compare to the 5 has 3D effect) and better new movement(the 4r36 on the Seiko 5 has Hacking and hand winding) that is why i went for the 5 and left the over priced skx

    • +5

How long ago since you could buy an SKX007/9 for ~$200?
Other than the WR drop, everything else is better on the new Seiko 5 vs SKX IMO.
And even then, how many people actually need the 200m vs 100m?

This is an amazing price for a good watch.
