100

got this in an email yesterday. going with my mum this morning to buy out max amounts;not sure what size chickens but at $2.99 i assume they're at least 1kg which is about a 33% from aldi which from memory is about $4.50/kg?

Hi

We have 8000 Fresh Chickens arriving!!!!

Starting at 2pm today (Thursday) at both Eagle Farm and Yatala, then at all stores from 9am Friday morning.

Whole Large Fresh Chickens (Plain or seasoned) just $2.99kg arriving fresh in store each day.

Our local supplier has an over production and he has said this price "will not last".

Maximum 10 Chickens per person, 1st in 1st served.

This has got to be the cheapest Roast money can buy!!!

Regards
Andrew

  • how do you have enough fridge/freezer space to store 20 chooks?

    • QLD by the looks of it

Plan to put 2-3 of these in the Harvey's coop. At least they won't go far :)

This is incorrect. The price is $2.99 per KG, not $2.99 each.

It's still a great price and great product (we bought a bunch last time), but incorrectly titled. It's even in the cut and paste description - "just $2.99kg", but the title needs to be updated.

  • yea sorry it was $2.99/kg in my excitement i didn't read it properly. they are quite large birds so was only able to buy about 8. they also had a stack of wagyu (spelling?) for about $5 a 1 kg pack ($10/kg -$5 a pack). and who doesn't love sausages or wagyu..?

    • couldnt have been wagyu if it was $5/kg - real wagyu is $80+kg

      • Real Wagyu ? Wagyu Rump starts at around $20kg and Eye Fillet starts at $50kg
Wagyu is a breed of cattle. The price just depends on the Marble Score and the cut.
