  • That would be a great deal at this moment.

  • This or normal switch? Opinions.

if you are on your own or no TV @ home, then go for lite.:)

Bigger screen of full size switch is always better

      • +2

Yes and no, the lite has a really nice portable feel.

If portability is the only way you play I'd be leaning the Lite.

Have both, but unfortunately Animal Crossing won't allow play on both so it's been a huge waste unfortunately.

    • I owned the lite then upgraded to the normal after a couple of months.
I make use of the detachable controllers and TV mode to justify the upgrade. The bigger screen is also nice.
I was able to snag it at an awesome price during the Amazon Black Friday sale, I hear stock for the full switch is hard to get at the moment so you might have to wait or settle for the lite for now

    • Why is literally everyone offering a suggestion -1'd??

Anyway, if you can afford the regular switch I highly recommend it.
Being able to just sit it into the dock and play it in bed on the tv is so good.

Normal switch is better - no question about it. If you can't afford normal switch, then save up money until you have enough.

    • +1

I own both, and definitely definitely normal switch is the way to go.

      • wrong reply

    • Lite is a terrible price. Tiny bit extra for a full switch is a no brainer. Although current pricing and availability screws with that.

Ps the joycons analogue start drifting after a while. It's shit engineering at its best. The lite is poised to be a waste of $ when it's been out 9 months because that's about how long the analogue takes to fail (at a guess). I've had 3 of 4 joycons do it now. If my one good joycon wasn't warrantied with a bad one it'd be 4 of 4 useless I believe.

I'm seriously considering buying joycon replacements now from kogan with extended warranty because I know they will fail.

I fixed a drifting joycon by buying parts on amazon, it’s actually quite easy to do, cost me around $10 to have 2 spare analogue sticks … it sucks nintendo has no free replacement for them.

        • Any link or how-to?

        • Keen to know too! Mine is also drifting

          • +1

@CodeXD: Link above, if you do it, remember to recalibrate the joycon in the switch settings … i wasted so much time trying to figure out why the new replacement wasn’t working properly

        • Thanks for this, I will give it a go getting sick of Link falling off a bloody cliff all the time.

      • i sent mine in for repairs past warranty period for free.

not sure if it has changed but well documented as it is widespread

    • I got a lite recently because I only planned to play in portable mode. The lite felt better in the hand for longer periods and the screen resolution is the same as the normal so the lite screen looks a bit sharper. The normal console has a better battery life though.

Hard to find regular switch in stock I guess

  • +1

I bought a normal switch when they were on sale last year from catch. Thing is. 95% of the time I use it in hand-held mode. If your like me, switch lite may do the trick.

    • I was like this. Now I have no commute i might dock it. Actually, I might get back to pc gaming. Cheaper and better than switch.

  • +5

Plus 1 for restoring faith in what this site actually is.

    Great deal.

  • Waiting for Normal Switch deal.. not many about sadly

  • Great deal with the current switch stock situation…good for those who are looking to buy a switch lite right now, thanks OP

  • I think the lite only if you have the switch already.

So many games are awesome to play 4 player couch coop.

  • Switch lite is good as a backup or for portability. Unfortunately Nintendo switch online is not good enough in terms of sync between machines which makes it mediocre.
Playing animal crossing new horizons on my lite atm and lovin it! Tried it on the og and found it lacking a feeling of ‘light gaming’ YMMV

Thanks OP. Leaning towards buying one for my 10 years old son. He does not get to play on TV anyway so I guess portability is good for him.

  • Keep in mind there are a few Switch games that are not compatible with the Switch Lite. Mario Party and Ring Fit Adventures are two I can think of off the top of my head.

Also local co-op on Switch Lite is heavily compromised. Worth considering if you are debating on a normal Switch or Switch Lite.

    • Keep in mind there are a few Switch games that are not compatible with the Switch Lite. Mario Party and Ring Fit Adventures are two I can think of off the top of my head.

Basically anything that requires physical movement of the Joy-Cons won't work with the Switch Lite, unless you purchase additional Joy-Cons.

  • Can anyone confirm if they have pulled this from the 15% sale? Code doesn't work for me now.

    • Code still works for me.

  • Just went to buy one, looks like it’s gone! No results clicking on the link.

Back in stock now, just grabed one as I never got a chance to touch my swith again since bought my wife Animal Crossing, sigh…

  • back in stock, bought 1!

  • Great deal! If there was a deal accordingly priced for the full sized Switch, would be a no brainer for me.

  • +1

My biggest regret was not buying a Switch around Black Friday last year. This offer is very tempting but I like the idea of docking and worried about the controllers drifting.

  • Isn't this just a rebranded 3DS?

    • Getting fixed in 3…2….1
