Do you have an Officeworks store nearby?
If you do they have a reasonable range of Office/Gaming chairs at between $200-$400. The Display models are handy for having a sit in and seeing what suits you.
I bought two last week, one for me and one for the wife. Having assembled display models allowed us to pick 2 different chairs that suited us.

Have had the gaming style chair from OW - and it's pretty poor quality in the longer run.

    • yes started with an OW one a few years back for that very reason but padding on seat didnt last long before is was uncomfortable for him , thanks anyway

A milk crate with a towel on top. Legit my chair.

  • If less than 300 instant tax deduction as “you need it to work from home”

  • I purchased one recently. Cheap crap $90 on sale from a thread here. I went to comment about how crap it was and the thread is closed as the deal has expired.

PS: the chair it replaced was over 10 years old. It was secondhand when i got it. The quality was chalk and cheese. Obviously not made in CHINA.

I paid $100 from a used office furniture place. I did look up the RRP and it was $650. It was still in great condition when i got it.

I bought a the Thunderx3 BC1 a week ago and am really happy. I am just over 6ft and slim in build, I find it super comfortable. The downsides would be the seat / bum section is not quite deep enough for my long legs. Arm rests are what holds the back of the chair to the seat, so you have to have them. They are nice but will change your posture slightly. The chair has 2 movements, up and down and it has a twist to change the pressure in the back.
It feels very good and not cheap and I would definitely recommend the brand if you find one you like.

I haven't regretted splurging a little bit of money on a steelcase leap v2 chair. My back thanks me every time I sit down to work.

Check out the one called DPS(Damage Per Second) in Costco. Got one few days back for $224 and its really good for the price.

Bought from them last week, arrived on Thursday. Very happy with it.
I bought the Champion as I wanted the full arm rest adjustment

    • that looks pretty good , he's 187cm this says up to 185 do you think it would make a difference with the lumbur /head rest ?

Buy a good ergonomic office chair. Racing "gaming" chairs can harm your back.

    • I prefer to sleep in my secretLab 'gaming' chair to my memory foam bed,
as I have a sore back for a few hours in the morning if I sleep in my bed.
Sometimes I have no choice but to fall asleep while I play games (I am old),
who wants to go to bed when there there are demons to slay in DOOM Eternal

  • Ikea Markus. Office chair but it's ergonomics are great for long sessions. Far better value for $$$ than a 'gaming chair' IMO.
