I just signed up for this contract…

Vodafone just changed their $29 cap for Nexus S with 2 month free access to $10 off for first 12 months. This means a saving of $120 instead of the original $58!

With moneybackco, you can get $84 back. If my calculations are right you pay only $20.50 per month. To me, it's quite a good deal even if the phone isn't the newest one out there…

They had this on offer just a week ago (expired 11/9). Then it changed to 2 months free, but looks like they've changed it back again.

    • This offer has been around for MONTHS !!!

      • I know, I was just saying it was there only a week ago. Seems strange that they ditched it, replaced it with a 2 month free offer, then ditched that within a few days and went back to the $10 off for 12 months offer.

  • Honestly I've got no idea who'd want to be stuck on A Vodafone 24 month plan, even with $10 off for the first 12months. You can get this phone on Vodafone PrePaid for $299 and they unlock it for free…

Actually voda had impruved quite a lot since so many people left :) good thing or a bad thing? Lol

    • Can't see it on their prepaid section of their website. Got a link?

Agree about not wanting to be on a 24 month plan with vodafone. I didn't even want to be on a 12 month, so bought a nexus S outright (US OLED version) and went with woolworths mobile prepaid (optus network). Ability to change carriers at will makes me happy. Worked out roughly the same cost over 12 months as getting a nexus S with vodafone at the time (a few months back), but with more GB of data, the OLED screen, and that freedom to move. plus the optus network's been better than voda so far (not perfect, but better).

      • look in the inq touch thread, you have to ask specifically instore to get the 299 prepaid.

  • You do realise that you just signed on to use half a network for thw next two years right? nexus s doesnt have 850, so no access vodafones fancy new network.

e.g. my telstra galaxy tab on voda has good reception on 850 in my office, where my 2100 phone need to step down to 2g to get any reception.

  • i signed my dad up for it on the $29 cap ~2 weeks before the deal was advertised. Probably the best phone available on a $29 cap from vodafone/three. Worked out ok anyway because they waived about 3 months of his existing 3 months left on his contract.

also signed my mum up for this last weekend on the $10 off /12 months deal and since it's on the same account they get 10% off the second contract.

only bad thing is that this phone doesn't support the 850mhz network

I am so tempted but as so many people say "nah" to Vodafone and the failed calls experience I got in a shopping mall drives me away from the network. The phone is a good phone though.

"Actually voda had impruved quite a lot since so many people left :) good thing or a bad thing? Lol"

I was just in Newtown (NSW) today and I couldn't use 3G data at all. GF tried to call me, but the call failed. I think Vodafone improving is just a placebo effect at best.

    • inclined to agree. I am 100% unable to call or be called or use the internet in the nearby shopping centre. There is reception, but the network is overloaded.

    • You could go for double date, and use voda as the scapegoat - absolutely fantastic!!!!

  • If compare with this plan I would go for crazyjohns instead which is $25/month but with 900MB of data and bonus $50 visa gift card (end this Sunday). Same network Voda.

What you can do with 200MB/month with Vodafone, so end up you have to pay more.

    • Pay $4/month and you will have additional 700MB (Classic Data Pack)

I am currently using Vodafone - Internet connection is crap (even in the city)
Having said that - phone connections / issue with call drop-outs etc are getting better…

Nexus S is a gr8 phone and I don't mind the SLCD screen
