    Someone was mentioning this in the other forum post:

    The formulations are based on advice by the World Health Organization and similar decisions by the US Food and Drug Administration. The final formulation of the hand sanitiser must contain only the following ingredients:

    EITHER ethanol 80% v/v (pharmacopoeial grade or food standard grade) OR isopropyl alcohol 75% v/v >>>>(pharmacopoeial grade) in an aqueous solution;
    sterile distilled water or boiled cold water;
    glycerol 1.45% v/v (pharmacopoeial grade);
    hydrogen peroxide 0.125% v/v (pharmacopoeial grade); and
    does not contain any other active or inactive ingredients, including colours, fragrances or emollients.

    Just noticed that yours contains 70% v/v ethanol. I don't know enough about this area, but I'm sure someone that does can chime in.

      Also says on the bottle (blurry) that it's >60% ethanol, so whats the real number?

      • You're right, the 5L bottle has a different figure 🤔

    • The formulation only has to comply with the TGA IF its being used in a healthcare setting (Hospitals or Clinics) or if it claims to kill to kill specific organisms. Otherwise it is considered a general consumer product ('Cosmetic') and not subject to TGA regulation.

      • So why bother stating that it's approved by TGA methods/standards?
        They also have an anti-bacterial hand wash that states it is suitable for Hospital use (also much cheaper).

        • Your guess is as good as mine, maybe as a focus on marketing their product?

    • A recent Lancet paper said non alchol sanitizer could kill covid.

      • +5

        Three problems with that -
        * "citation needed"
        * "non alcohol sanitiser" - which one? There are many.
        * "could"

    • If you look at the testing from a month ago. Corona is killed by 30% ethanol, and nearly as low as 20% isopro. This research if true means in emergency you could actually use a bottle of 40% vodka as hand sanitiser. But for corona it is generally advised above 60%, above 70 or 80% and it is a broader anti viral/bacterial sanitiser, but for corona 60% is fine

    • Before sprouding this stuff which has been wrongly posted on other submissions creating incorrect negative dispersions how about you do your research?

      The TGA accepts the following dosage forms and strengths for hand rub and wash:

      "Ethanol Lotion, gel or solution formulated as a hand rub 60-95% v/v absolute ethanol."

      Source: https://www.tga.gov.au/otc-medicine-monograph-hand-sanitiser…

      So at either 60% or 70% this is fine. I found that in 10 seconds with Google. It isn't hard and initating unnecessary concern and speculation isn't productive.

        That is a little misleading.

        This deal is obviously a response to the coronavirus, therefore you have to look at the TGA’s coronavirus advice regarding hand sanitiser NOT their regular guidelines for hand sanitiser OTC sales.

        In regards to Covid-19 the TGA recommends/concurs with the WHO/FDA suggestion of 80% ethanol.

        https://www.tga.gov.au/hand-sanitisers-and-covid-19

        With that being said…, that is the recommendation for a hospital/medical setting. It is generally accepted that 60% and above is fine to eliminate the virus.

        However … the product marketing saying that the hand sanitiser is approved according to the TGA methods makes it sound like it meets the TGA’s Covid-19 standard, which it objectively doesn’t.

        70% ethanol is still an effective hand sanitiser however it’s a little misleading to allude to that standard being met.

    Dang, I accidentally went to Ozhandsanitizer.com.au again

  • What's the postage cost on a single 500ml bottle to Melbourne?

    • Never-mind, just realised there's a shipping calc in the cart.

      2 x 500ml bottles + shipping to Melbourne = $49.55

    Tested/approved according to TGA methods

    What's the ARTG ID for your product?

    • If you people are going to start expecting standards in the advertising claims then we have to change our advertising motto-"you can fool some of the people some of the time…. and generally speaking that is enough to make a profit".

    I forgot my disclosure, I have personally tried this product. It's a bit tart but finishes well on the pallette.

  • I have requested site dev to look into the postage issue. It should be $12 nationwide for under 5kg.

  • Do you guys sell Isopropyl? If so how much per litre and in what quantity do you sell it in?

  • I missed the time when I could buy the Aldi Tricare hand sanitiser, 250ml for $2.99. Just checked the bottle and it states it contains 72% w/w ethanol. I only bought 1 bottle trying to do the right thing, it was 6 weeks ago and I never saw them on the shelf ever since! My local Drake supermarket (Rochedale) is selling face masks behind their check out counter (10 per pack) at $39, the price gouging is just horrendous !

    Hi Vendor, "Hey Nerd" here. Just curious about the TGA methods. Can I use it to approve my urine for use as hand sanitizer?

  • Looks to be a brand new website set up to take advantage of the virus. https://www.crazydomains.com.au/whois/miratra.com.au/#result
    Nothing wrong with that but I'd like to see evidence of the proprietor's (Mr Cheung?) hospital and clinical customers to establish some bona fides.

  • Hey OP, I ordered the cleanplus sanitiser and you sent me some Blue Jacar sanitiser. How do I know this complies to the same standards as cleanplus? I was already using cleanplus and hence why I ordered it as it scented and has aloe vera. I hate the smell of pure alochol. Please either send me the correct product or issue a refund.
