Please Help Identify This Tree

Hi all, we have had this tree in our garden for about twenty five years. This summer is the first time it ever flowered. They were a pale pink colour. We were away for some time and when we came back home found all this white fruit on the ground. We then realised it was from the tree. The fruit was growing right on the limbs.Any ideas what the tree is
Cheers JOHN

Get an app called picturethis. Identifies plants from camera / image.
Ids have been spot on so far for me (usually checking plants in veggie patch to check for weeds)

I put your first photo in and it says Common garcinia, a species of monkey fruit.
It does say fruits are yellow (yours look pale yellow) maybe not the right thing, but I only had a quick look

App has a free trial, 3 free Ids but you can earn more by daily checkin, watching ads.

I am not affiliated in any way

I reckon Guava, they need another variety nearby to help pollinate and set fruit.

Apple and pears are deciduous and flower at the beginning of spring.

  • Nashi

  • Nash pear

Definitely not guava or nashi. I’d put my money on a Lilly pilly, Syzygium moorei. Native to NSW. If it is, it’s quite a significant tree as it’s listed as rare and vulnerable now.

Oh, and the fruit are likely edible
