    about that presage…

    Case Diameter : 40.5mm
    Case Thickness : 14.5mm
    Crystal/Glass Type : Hardlex Glass

40mm is good but how is this 14.5mm thick???

    also hardlex

    • Can confirm they are quite thicc and can be a major put-off for some, I like the power reserve configuration though.

      • yeah so do I… that's why I own a Orient GMT which is only 12mm thick

I dont understand Seiko these days, their watches are just too big and too thick… FOR A DRESS WATCH… why?

the Sarb33/35 is a good sort of scale for a dress watch

I love their dials but yes, they really need to do dial down (pun intended) their size and thickness.
Hopefully with the new 36mm Orients we'll start seeing more releases with sensible case sizes.

      • Wow, looking around at photos, they are a big unit!

  • I think the 5KX's are still too expensive at that price point.

    • I think $229/$269 is ok value for what you get… not great value. You get a nicer movt now but you still get hardlex.

I'd much much rather try to get one of the Orient models with sapphire for a bit more? I'm just not sold on this new 5KX aesthetic.

      • I like the newer Orient Saturation divers too. I think many of the new 5KX look cheesy. I'd rather pony up for a King Turtle (on sale) or a MM200.

  • FYI, made in Malaysia, assembled in China.

Save up for a Sumo. Will be the only Seiko you need for daily use.

      • It was my initial concern too.

No. dont get fooled by the dimension.

Case is nicely curved to wrap around the arm. Look much smaller than what the spec suggests.

Starbuy sells for $799 when special is on. Lowest was $649.

    • Big difference in price for a Sumo.
For the specs and price, $230 is a good price for the new Seiko 5 range.

  • The Presage is now OOS

Still hanging out for a chance the SRPD23 may drop a bit. I don't know why, it's already been knocked down a fair bit.

    • Want this to drop too..

      • I'm always conflicted if I like the SRPD23 or the SRPD99 more.

        • I had the SRPD99 for a couple of years. Great looking watch.

          • @ozeebee: I just saw a photo from the review section and it made me aware of the blue lume, looks amazing.

It was $399 a few weeks ago

  • @starbuy

Any chance of SRPD63K going on sale soon? Will buy faster than Usain Bolt if it does.

    • Waiting on an SRPD55K1 sale haha

  • There is also https://www.starbuy.com.au/seiko-prospex-automatic-200m-dive… on sale.
Decent price for a monster, although I'm not a fan of the black bezel compared to SS in nearly every other gen.

I've been eyeing off the SRPD83 for a while as something different in my collection.
I think $229 is a great price for it.
