Great price on this card which is the number 1 choice for dashcams. Bought one as I am having issues with Sandisk High Endurance causing dashcam to continually restart.

Price at Harvey Norman is $98 and Skycomp $86 so seems a great deal with free shipping

This a good one for nintendo switch?

High endurance card is probably overkill for Switch. High endurance is necessary for dash cams, where the data is being overwritten constantly, whereas Switch only writes to SD when downloading a game / update (save files are stored on internal memory).

To add onto this then, as I had the same question, is there anything you would suggest for the switch? or just.. Any SD card? Got a switch coming soon so was curious.

Just get a Samsung Evo Plus for the switch, they are good for phones/consoles

        • Samsung Evo Plus or Sandisk Ultra should be fine. I like the Samsung Evo Plus myself.

        • I use a Samsung Evo Plus in the Switch. I also use one in my phone :)

I couldn't agree more with you mate but just to prove myself wrong I have put the lowest Sandisk (Ultra) in two dashcams (VioFos) with overwrite mode for past 8 months and perfectly working …. :O ..still has not failed me…lol

        • The ultra worked fine in my old dashcam too, but the video was choppy.

Sandisk High Endurance is supposed to be specifically designed for dashcams and constant rewrite uses, and it worked fine for the first month, now it causes the Blackvue to keep restarting itself. I knew Sandisk was not recommended for dashcams but I thought this high endurance one would be OK, but nope. Temporary fix is to format it and you get a few days of stable performance, then the same issue. Looking forward to this Samsung Pro arriving.

          • @nubzy: Yeah mate ,agree.
i had done extensive research when i got my dashcam and wanted to give it a shot before going high endurance but till now not needed.

Btw , i check my videos weekly to test if any issue and never experienced a choppy one (i record both front and rear as 1080P).

    • This is great for dashcam use.

Imo, dash am is good for crashing, but bad for preventing theft, if they break into your car they would steal your dashcam as well wouldn’t they it’s local so triage unless you have cloud storage which are then a lot more expensive or integrated ones like Tesla but then for Tesla unless they have a safe protecting the recording hard drive that could also be stolen in case of theft.

        • They're talking about the memory card, not dash cams themselves..

          • @dfaktz: They are taking about using sad cards in the dash cam

            • @[Deactivated]: Everyone knows what they are talking about, but your last comment was irrelevant and off the rails.

              • @smartazz104: Why so many negs it’s reasonable coffee you think about it

        • Teslas cost a little more than $52.48

  • This is the same one I've been in my BlackVue dashcams for the past 12 months without any problems.

  • Thank you, got one.

  • FYI:

    Read/write speeds up to 100/30 MB/s

  • finally, been waiting for an sd card deal for my dashcam for months.

This is for dashcam and possibly raspberry pi for longitivity. For speed / console / mobile phone, you should buy Samsung Evo Plus

    • For R Pi, especially 4, wouldn't it be better to use USB 3.0 and connect it to an SSD or a portable HDD? Speed and reliability are both better?

      • Not if you're writing a lot of logs to the SD card

        • Why though? Even on RPi4, the SD card reader performance isn't great. RPi log files shouldn't be that large anyway. If you really have a need to write lots of log files, then you would either write it to a NAS or SSD/HDD.

You get 10X better performance using a lousy SSD such as BX500 over this microSD card. I just don't get the logic why you would get this one to use it on RPi4. Not to mention with this microSD card, you trade write performance for higher endurance.

      • True if you need that much performance. Otherwise Micro SD is easier and doesn’t need external device to be plugged in.

    • Thoughts on whether a home security camera like (xiaomi) needs this?

Just checked purchase history and found I bought exactly this card on Nov. 2018 for AUD52.10 including shipping from Newegg. It feels like an investment since the price is rock solid like this lol.
