    Silly question, but is it likely this purchase would automatically be upgraded to 4K when its out?

  I showed the extended editions to my sisters recently. To my shock they had never seen them before. If you enjoy LotR and ever get the chance to watch them with people that haven't seen them it's a really great experience. They were trying to guess who would die or live, and what would happen in the end, they actually got more invested in these movies than any other I've seen them watch.
