      Voda TV

      • can Voda tv connected to google home? Like cast videos to voda tv

        • Yes you can cast video to Voda tv. Voda tv has got Android TV os so you should be able to connect it to Google Home.

That's a hard choice. I'm on the same boat I'm not sure whether I should get Vodaphone TV or Mi Box S. I've heard bad and good things for the both. But the Vodaphone TV for $72 is a good deal though.I'll comment which one I'll buy when I have decided which one to buy.

      • Please do as I'm still deciding ;)

  • Has anyone worked out how to get Visa tv to recognise hard drive that's not fat32

    • You can install JS USB OTG for NTFS drives.

      • I too am deciding between VTV / Mi box / Nvidia Shield. The shield is so much more expensive but offers very solid performance.

Is this software that allows playback from a NTFS hard drive? Will my large 4k mkv files (30-80gb) play through plex or another media player?

        • Yes, it allows playback from a NTFS hard drive. None of my files are more than 4gb though.

        • With Vodaphone TV I heard if you use Kodi it doesn't have good audio passthrough. Also Vodafone Tv doesn't have auto frame rate switching.

        • I have hard on the Vodaphone tv on Android 9.0 you can't use NTFS anymore it only supports FAT32.

          • @NinjaGamer: Oops spelling mistake I mean I have heard on the Vodaphone tv on Android 9.0 you can't use NTFS anymore it only supports FAT32.

            • @NinjaGamer: True but as per my earlier comment, you can install JS USB OTG for NTFS drives.

      • My understanding is that this works like a file explorer and you launch NTFS content from the JS OTG software eg I think Kodi won't be able to read or index the NTFS drive for example. This would kill the simplicity I was chasing when I bought the Vodafone TV to make my wife's life simpler after I ran everything from a media PC.

    • There is a thread https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/518095

Vodafone has been refunding the purchase price. I got my money back as a result of the update. I would take a long look at the mi.

      • Thank you! Now I'm thinking of getting a MiBox S or somehow importing the 4k Firestick.

  • Can you install vpn apks on this? Looking to watch US Netflix

    • +3

I've got PIA VPN on my earlier version of this box. It works fine, no APK needed as I got it straight from the app store.

      • Nice thanks for the response

    • If you can't find the vpn that you want on it you can sideload it.
