You doubled up on past tenses in your second sentence.

Hope you weren't trying to clear English exams.

but the internet is full of scam

are you trying to cheat on a exam?

    • +1

yeah, how dare they scan someone trying to find a legitimate way to scam

You are looking for a “legit” way to cheat on an exam ? That’s literally the opposite of what you should be doing, and cheapens the certifications. If you get caught out many organisations will remove any previous certs but also ban you for life.

I also hate working with people who have heaps of certs that actually have NFI what they are doing.

    Learn first, then get certified

Would you say he is taking the mikky out of certs?

    • 100% agree

This is the reason why I ignore certifications on cv’s, the most useless candidates have them and Cleary just took this path.

    • Look - don't. As I've said in my comments below, I use them only once I've studied my arse off and want to make sure I'm covered.

Just weed out the liars by asking questions that somebody with a bit of experience should know. If we're talking IT - things like asking what a VMware affinity rule is and why you'd use one is a favourite of mine.

      • Lol thats a very specific question that I'd say 99% of IT workers wouldn't know. Nor should they need to know it for all but a few roles.

        • ^^ This guy used a brain dump

(seriously though it's not VMware 101, but it's definitely VMware 102, I honestly wouldn't hire you if you couldn't answer that!)

          • @picklewizard: If you want a bit of a puzzler for an interview, ask them to explain what the following bash command does, followed by how do you prevent it ?

            :(){ :|:& };:

I use braindumps after I'm certain I've studied as much as I can. Given exams are often more often sneakily worded to trip you up rather than to genuinely test your skills and knowledge, it's a good way to guarantee a pass on a subject.

Answers in braindumps cannot be relied upon. I find the questions to be accurate, and the answers anywhere from 40-70% correct. If you rely on a braindump, there is an excellent chance you will not pass.

Use the braindumps to research answers.

I use prepaway, but honestly I've searched around and they all seem to use the same source.

    • Thank you. I agree 100% with you.
I have gained enough knowledge to crack the interview but exam required more of knowing exact words rather than knowledge.
The exam will get me to the interview but my Knowledge will get me Job.

Not really, if you know the product inside out, the exam becomes easy.

        Stop taking shortcuts.

The whole point of an exam is to see if you really have the knowledge.

        • How can I learn the product if I don't have the experience with it that I need a certificate to be able to get the job to gain the experience?

Edit: I re-read that sentence and it gave me cancer but I'm leaving it.

          • @picklewizard: if you don’t know how to use the product you shouldn’t have certification.

I am not going to waste my time explaining how you can learn. There are many options for you.

            • @The mikky: Look, I know homelabs are a thing, but they simply don't represent real-world scenarios or enterprise environments. I can't set up a 10-node stretched vSAN cluster on a homelab, for example.

I'm not here to start an argument, but your argument is wrong. You're basically saying that anybody out of uni is unqualified because they're certified but inexperienced.

I know what I'm doing and I've got the certs to prove it.

              • @picklewizard: Well actually you have just admitted that you cheat on exams.

                Your certs were obtained fraudulently.

                So they are worthless.

And your argument about uni is ridiculous. No one expects a uni graduate to already have a whole bunch of certs as well.

If you don't know what you are doing and cant pass the exam without cheating you shouldn't be sitting the exam in the first place.

  • Maybe pay one of those people to sit and pass the exam for you. Might as well cheat properly rather than leaving it to chance.

Since you studied so hard and know your stuff, I don't understand how they can expect you to pass an exam assessing all of that stuff.
