Mobile Phone Sale - Oppo AX5 $199, iPhone 6S 32GB $379, Optus X Lite $29 Delivered @ Australia Post

90

I was looking for a replacement for a relative's dying handset and saw these in the local Aus Post shop. All are prepaid and come with (or without) varying amounts of credit, and will be locked to their respective networks. Delivery is free if you can't make it to a physical shop, but it looks like the 6S is sold out online so you will need to check your local store for stock. There are several other models on sale, these look to be the best value IMO.

Optus X Lite $29 (was $49) - no credit with Optus prepaid kit
[Oppo AX5 $199)[https://auspost.com.au/shop/product/telstra-oppo-ax5-32270] (was $279) - with $10 Telstra prepaid kit
Apple iPhone 6S 32Gb Space Grey $379 (was $429) - with $30 Telstra prepaid kit

  • Has anyone got an Oppo AX5? If so, is it any good? The relative I'm looking on behalf of has an ancient HTC One that she's resolutely hung onto for as long as possible, but she's started to grudgingly admit it may be time to (finally) give it up, only because the battery dies after 20 minutes and she had phone calls cut off mid-conversation. I've heard good things about Oppo, I've just never had experience with them.

  • My son has an Oppo A73, although not the same model, it is/was a budget phone but kept up and sometimes exceeded my Galaxy S8.
I've read some people hate the oppo OS, but he doesn't mind it.
I'm led to believe Oppo is like Hisense for TVs, not the mainstream but pretty reliable.

    • I got an Oppo Reno Z a few months back and it works great. Again different model. OS is ok, no complaints, it launches applications.

  • The Optus X Lite is 3G only so it's not much different to the Telstra Lite which is $9 @ HN.
    I still wouldn't buy it.

    • Erm, no, neither would I, but as the cheapest handset on sale I kinda had to include it in the post. Having said that, I had an overseas visitor a few years back and she bought one of these ~$20 phones to use for the duration of her trip. It did the trick and meant we could call & text eachother, which was all she needed it to do.

    iPhone 6s gone

    • I looked up stock levels, there are still some around, where did you want it?

button says "Out Of Stock" for iPhone 6s

    • That’s why I put this into the original post:

it looks like the 6S is sold out online so you will need to check your local store for stock.

So, if Rockgod70 has access to stock levels that means only store stock. This, if you tell us where you are you’ll be able to find out if one is available nearby.
