  • What’s the usual price?

    And

What are people’s experience with NRG solar?

    • Last I checked, they had a pretty good reputation on the Whirlpool solar forum.

Just to clarify, this deal is from GNR8NRG. I am one of their happy customers. Came across this deal while helping a friend by checking their current offers, so found it worthy of sharing on OzBargain. I got 19 LG 335W panels + 5 kW Fronius primo inverter in August 2018. No regrets or complaints so far. I chose them for their experience, quality of equipment and installation. Received excellent after-sales support from Jarrod when I had some questions (no faults or problem) about my system performance. (I believe Jarrod is one of the owners/partners). I found them via the http://lgenergy.com.au website. They are Platinum LG Solar Dealer. They offer great value for their products but they are not the cheapest like some opportunistic short term operators. Hope this helps.

    • Good, extremely happy with my install by them a few years back. After sales support excellent, even a few years down the track.

My install was 5.1kW worth of REC panels and a 5kW Fronius inverter with smart meter, which came to $5,800. So really to be completely honest I don't find this deal fantastic if you are simply looking at price alone. But the guys are great, Jarrod is fantastic, and I even got their sparkys to come and do some other work after the solar install which was done very very well. Absolutely more than happy to recommend them, I would go back to them any day.

    Seems average to me

Agree. By the time you upgrade to LG panels and fronius inverter it’s no longer a deal.

Any other suggestions in SA for something at 5kW?

        • Do you even need 5KW? Check your electricity bill to confirm. You definitely want a 6K inverter to maximise rebates and to future proof if you want more panels later.

Not sure which companies are good in SA…

  • How long would it take to pay a system like this off?

    • Anyway from 3-6 years depending on usage.

  • more info please, just bought a house in SA

Can't comment on Q-Cell panels (heard they're pretty good) but I'm getting solar installed next week. Specs:

    10.89kw Solar PV System
1x Fronius Primo 8.2KW Single Phase Inverter
33 x Jinko Cheetah HC330W Mono black frame solar Panels
$4935 out of pocket after rebates. $1888 of that will be paid over 48 months interest free

    I'm in Victoria BTW.

    • That's great price. Wow

Can’t compare Victoria to SA as Victoria has extra rebates

    • Where can I get this deal??

      • I can PM you his details but your PM is turned off.

        • That would be amazing
          Thanks

    • There are similar prices (10kW for less than $5K) in QLD as well. If you want warranty on its performance you may need to pay extra…

    • 10.89kw sounds like an odd system? how did you decide on that?

      • You don’t, it’s simply what this combination of panels yield, i.e. 33 x 330 = 10.89kW.

  • Anyone know of good 10 kw deals in sydney?
