[Back Order] LG 27GL850 27" UltraGear Nano IPS 1ms 2560 x 1440 FreeSync Gaming Monitor $749 Free Shipping @ Rosman Computers

170

Hi,

My first time post so please be gentle.

I am looking for a FPS monitor for PUBG gaming purpose. It seems to be that for some reasons number of PUBG players in Australia has increased a lot recently.

I looked at a lot of reviews and I think LG 27GL850 is probably the best monitor by far and it is a really good value for money. Rosman seems to have the best price.

As always, keep FPS and stay safe.

Currently more stock is expected to arrive into the warehouse on May 6th but I need to confirm with LG on Monday to make sure that the date given is accurate and there will be enough stock to fulfill current back orders.

I made an account just to ask: why haven't you listed this product as on backorder on your page if you don't actually have it in stock? That seems disingenuous to me.

      • +1

It states the availability on the page… Availability:MEL:0 SYD:0 PER:0

It also has a disclaimer about what to expect if stock isn't available at your nearest depot. Also, 6th May is only 3 days away.

Any deals on 34GK950F? Thanks in advance

I got this monitor back in December 2019, and always curious to see how the prices are going. This seems to be a pretty good price, I think I got it for around $800.

The monitor is fantastic. Great colour reproduction, bright, and the adaptive sync is easy to set up with a nVidia card.
Just follow the reviews and keep the Response Time to FAST, not the highest setting. Also, the HDR feature is not real, its specs are not bright enough for proper HDR.

    • -5

To me, HDR is more like the quality of pixels. If the overall display is fine, HDR feature is a big plus.

      • +4

Let me fix it to you:

"If the overall display is fine, HDR feature is a small plus".

        • +2

Agreed, with peak brightness this low it may as well just say "accepts HDR signal" since it in no way is capable of delivering a proper HDR experience. Still a great monitor though unless you're dead set on having HDR.

I got a 27 inch 1440p monitor like 3 years ago for $600 I don't think this is a good deal. What's the refresh rate?

      • +4

Not all monitors are the same.

I got a crossover 27 back when Korean panels just entered the market around 2012. Bought an over clockable driver board and I've been running it at 90hz ever since.

Sure it doesn't have gsync or freesync but it only cost me about $400 back then and has a mirror finish instead of matte nowadays.

This should go in the forums fyi for your first one and interested in feedback

As this isnt a deal or even an instock item if its meant to be

I agonized over buying one of these for weeks earlier in the year after missing a few sub $700 deals and ultimately ended up pulling the trigger at the regular price of $750. No offense to OP since relatively speaking it is a good price with all the recent hikes but it's kind of crazy to see $750 listed as a "deal" now.

All that aside though the monitor is excellent. Colours are good straight out of the box and great if you spend a bit of time tinkering in the settings. My particular unit has very minimal IPS glow and zero backlight bleed which from what I've read online is to be expected from the QC on this model. G-Sync is super easy to set up and works perfectly, the monitor doesn't have a G-Sync module but has been tested and verified as officially G-Sync compatible by NVIDIA. 350 nit peak brightness makes this a faux HDR panel but in this price range I guess you can't have it all.

Overall definitely worth $750, obviously it's been a fair bit lower in the past but with everything that's going on at the moment it's hard to say when it will hit those bargain prices again so if you need something now or in the near future it's still a good buy in my opinion.

I use this myself, got it for 750 2 months ago. Exceptional for the money.

I picked up this monitor for $799 a couple of weeks ago and that was a decent price, so this is good for at the moment.

I did a lot of research on monitors, and ideally for me I was looking for a 1440p IPS monitor with a high refresh rate/response time. This one is the most recommended. I would avoid 4k at the moment for gaming, as you typically won't get a high refresh rate.

  • Was looking for a monitor as well.
Would you guys recommend this or the LG 32GK650F

Shipping is $15 to Brisbane for some reason. :/

    • Both are good but depending on your needs. 32 might be too big for gaming

If you get this as a second monitor can it be high Hz while the older one is low Hz?

    • There is no restriction for your 2nd monitor. If say your first monitor is 60hz only it has no correlation or discrepancies with your 2nd monitor. It relies heavily on how hard your computer can operate in a workload. Say I have a 2003 PC and I want to play a game at 144hz it's not possible to increase your fps alone just by upgrading a monitor if that's what you were requiring. But say if you just want an 144hz monitor for casual use, web-surfing etc with a decent PC, it will operate at 144hz fine at normal casual use.

  • Wonder what the difference is with the 27GL850 vs the 27GL850-B which can be had for an extra $50 at umart

    • That suffix usually refers to the colour.

    • The monitor is commonly just referred to as 27GL850 and is often listed without the -B suffix for whatever reason. I'd expect that the full model number would be shown somewhere under the more detailed information on Umart's product page. There is an extremely similar model 27GL83A which is basically the same monitor but without DCI-P3 coverage but to my knowledge it's not available in Australia.

Review by rtings here for anyone considering.

  • I was eyeing the HP Z27 based on reviews….not using for gaming:

  • Looking for a good work 1440p monitor to work from home + Gaming.
Looks like they will lift restrictions soon so primarily gaming?
Is this good or is there a better one I should wait to go on sale.
Max i can afford is ~800ish

Received in a handful of monitors today which will be allocated to the earlier back orders and the next scheduled shipment is on track for May 6th but less stock is expected to arrive in this order. The next shipment is expected to arrive in a couple of weeks.

    • +1

      Thanks for the update rep

    • THe price has increased from 749 to 849?

  • +2

Stock has arrived for the majority of the back orders that have been placed. Shipping of the monitors is in progress.

    • If my order status is still "awaiting fulfillment" right now, is it safe to assume the order is not going to be shipped until the next batch arrives?

  • +3

The customer's who have been allocated today's stock should have received a status change from "Awaiting Fulfillment" to "Awaiting Shipment" or "Shipped". If the status is still at "Awaiting Fulfillment" then the delivery will depend on when the next batch of monitors arrive.

    • +1

Mine was changed to Back-ordered today, any idea on what kind of time frame until it is shipped?

      • +1

All available orders have been fulfilled up to May 3rd. If the order has been placed after that date than stock will need to be allocated in the next batch which is currently expected to arrive around May 27th.

        • Thanks for the reply.

Now listed at $759, marked down from $849. No longer expired, or requires new post as price is $10 more (Still a Back Order)?
