[ACT] King of Knives Canberra Centre 80% off Most Bruno Barontini Knives 35% off Everything Else

90

King of Knives in Canberra Centre is closing down within the next two weeks. Everything is over 35% off, with select items (mostly Bruno Barontini knives) at 80% off.

It's across from Supabarn, between Ted's Cameras and the Sushi place. Took us a round to find it because the store itself is actually called "Kitchener & Cook". All general kitchenware at least 35% off.

This isn't the full array of King of Knives wares, mostly just the kitchenware, knives, etc. The sales lady said they stopped stocking the "boy's toys" a while ago, but there's still a small range of expensive Leatherman, Victorinox and LED Lenser left (35% off).

Here are the standouts I picked up, though:

  • Shweet!

  • Were there any 8" or bigger chefs/cooks knifes and chopping boards on special?

    • Most of my attention went to items with 80% off, and I didn't notice anything like that. It might have been there for 35% off. I might be back there tomorrow (for the cheese knife set) so I'll report back if I see what you described.

Cool, thanks heaps! Hope there's plenty of stock!!

        • Saw this set: 8" Chef's knife + utility knife + paring knife $124.95 down to $24.99. Japanese Steel 420J2.
Sorry, using my phone, accidental neg.

  • Any idea what steel they use?

    • The Soho Set and Fluted Santoku are Japanese Steel 420J2.
      The other two don't specify.

BrunoB's use Japanese steel. I don't know what grade sorry. At $6.99 for the steak knives it's a bargain - they're far superior to anything else you can get for around that price.

    Bismarck uses German steel.

  • Thanks! Picked up Santoku for $8.95 and a set of steak knives with steel handles in wooden block for $12:

Knives are made in China, but quality is good, very sharp. They still have plenty in stock.
I also spotted a long fishing/filleting knife with sheath, don't remember the price, something under $10.
