Lol are giveaways like this the reason why Telstra is expensive?

    • Probably. I've got a bunch of Google Nest Minis unopened from all the bonus points. For what it's worth, we have but just one mobile service with Telstra (and one on Boost)

      • I'd prefer giveaways to existing customers than stockholder dividends mate. That said, i don't own any Telstra stock.

        Others might feel differently.

  • +6

First 3 prizes listed are close to worthless. Unfortunately they make up 99% of the total prizes.

    • +2

Better worthless than nothing at all for free

    • +10

Just worked it out - chances of getting either 100/500/1000 points is 99.92%.

As in, if you were to enter this competition with 10,000 accounts you would have only 8 on average that would score another prize. Of which the chances of getting a Google home mini bundle is around 25% (2) and a Telstra TV is 30% (2.4) and the Bluetooth speaker 17.3% (1.3) - you could expect 1 in 5000 people who entered to get a different prize to those three.

  • I'm trying to work out what this means:

    a) 2,069,748 Telstra Plus Points in various values, valued at $1,325,000
    100 points x 1,500,000
    500 points x 400,000
    1,000 points x 169,700
    10,000 points x 40
    100,000 points x 4
    1,000,000 points x 1
    1,500,000 points x 1
    2,000,000 points x 1
    5,000,000 points x 1

As in, I'm not sure how the 2,069,748 worked out.

    • +2

Try adding up the second column instead of the first.

      • Ahh, makes sense. Just had to re-read the first line and realised that it is really trying to say "2,069,748 bundles of Telstra Plus Points in various values".

  • +14

Lol good comp telstra. Enjoy your 100 points everybody

    • +2

I'd rather 100 points than another Telstra TV.

      • +1

Telstra TV you can probably sell for a few bucks or give as a gift? Shrug, never owned one!

        • -1

Consider yourself one of the lucky ones.

  • +4

Entered the draw anyway. Something for nothing

  • +4

Gonna take awhile to find out, anyway. "We’ll send you an email after 14 June to let you know what your gift is."

  • Does a boost mobile subscription make you eligible for Telstra rewards?
    Thanks.

    • +1

Boost is Boost, not Telstra, so that'd be no.

      • Ok thanks.

      • It actually does as they share the same billing system

        • It does? You can create a Telstra ID and register for Telstra+?

T&Cs state it has to be Telstra.

          • @Chuppa: Yes, you won't be able to access your service through it but you can create the account

    • I registered on Telstra, but you do get points for recharging, although it's kinda tiny.

      • I've been trying to do that without success if you know how please advice

      • If you have a Telstra pre-paid yes.

  • +3

A good present for me would be for them to actually send my month old rewards store order!

    • Have 3 outstanding Telstra+ orders. 2 over a month old 😡

    • Don’t loose hope, it will arrive eventually. I order something, gave a useless invoice number, useless because you can not use it to track or make enquiries, you only get a tracking number after they ship the product. Ship within 1-2 days it said… arrived 2 month later at my door step. then 24hours latter i got a product already delivered notification email, then 24 hours after that got a Shipping Notification email with tracking. Yep for some reason it goes backwards.

  • It's, not working for me. I logged in and got an error message saying something went wrong

    • It was broke then, but was working earlier today

  • A good present for me would be them not charging me monthly for something I bought outright using points. Then charging me a $210 cancellation fee cause they 'fixed' the problem.

@kerfuffle: And now we all wait with great anticipation to see what great prizes we won.

            • @jace88: Which do you think you won; 100 points or 500 points?

              • @ChillBro: I'm hoping for the 5 million points.

                • +1

@jace88: I think no one received it..

                  • @dipeen749: The chances of winning anything more than 1000 telstra points is less than 0.1% lol

                    • @ChillBro: Chances are 1 in 9247, or 1 in 9518 of winning a physical item.

  • T O D A Y S T H E D A Y

  • Did anyone received anything????

    • Nothing yet, but they did say winners will be notified within 2 business days. I assume it'll take them a little bit of time to deposit the 5 million points into my account though ;)

      • 5 million points…. that's 666 Google Nest Minis….

    • Not me

Winners notified by email and published on 19 June on http://www.telstra.com.au/plus/firstbirthday

        • Lol, I was about reply with “it is the 19th”, that was until I double checked the calendar and apparently today is the 18th. I’m going to bed…

          • @mapax: It's the 19th now, and I checked at 12:00 and 12:01. Nothing in my email. Nothing in my Telstra Plus Points dashboard.

            • @jace88: I haven't gotten an email either, Checked my points history and nothing at all

  • also says within 2 business days.. Drawn 16th. 17th and 18th business days. 19th will be 3 days :)
As said expect my 100 points tomorrow now :)

The prize allocation will be determined by a computerised draw at Level 12/400 George St Sydney at 11am on 16 June 2020 in the presence of an independent scrutineer.

Winners will be notified by email within 2 business days of the draw and what prize they have won, and winner’s names will be published on www.telstra.com.au/plus/firstbirthday on 19 June 2020.

  • Anyone seen anything yet?

    • Nope!

      • +1

        probably an email outage :)

    • nothing here yet either.

  • Would have thought results would at least been on website by this

    • +2

Thanks to Telstra for eliminating all of my productivity today.

  • Winners are up now.

    • Not a winner of anything decent 😢

      • Nothing here either. I was waiting for the results to come up before porting out of Telstra, just in case!

  • lol didnt win anything!

    • Same. Bugger-all. Good luck to those who did, with most of the items in the store constantly being out-of-stock.

    • +1

      Welcome to the 99.9%

      • haha for some reason I thought being a gold plus member entitled me to win something :p

  • didn’t win anything

  • I may have won a Google Pixel 4, but could just be some random person who shares my first name and same letter of surname.

    • +3

Now that I've won zilch, all my hopes are with you. Someone has to get something out of this ridiculous, drawn out competition.

      • +1

Thanks. Much like everything about this competition, I'm sure it will be yet another disappointment. Not sure why they didn't go first name initial and full surname, less likely for duplicates.

        • The list of winners of 100 points is up. My name appears three times in there, so a one in four chance of winning, so I don't like my chances now.

          • @shaneb: I've only found my name and initial once. Don't think I won anything …

            • +1

@kerfuffle: I'm raising the white flag. My name is listed so many times in the other files now… It was a nice thought while it lasted.

              • @shaneb: 1000 points showing on my account, no e-mail

  • +2

Not all hope is lost, they didn't list the 1000, 500, 100 point winners. Better than nothing if we win!

My Missus name and initial is listed twice, but no email, which made me laugh when she proclaimed she won something despite having the one of the most common first names ever :D

  • My name is also on the list, but no email. Guessing coincidence.

  • no win :(

  • Hurry up and add my 100 points so then I can redeem something and leave lol.

  • That was anticlimatic.

  • anyone got their 100 points..
you think you get an email to say you have :)

  • Well last 5 days with Telstra.

  • Nothing. Prob cause I have an overdue bill of $33.00

  • What on earth is happening, I didn't get anything at all

  • Nothing here either :P

  • +1

Oh wow! I won a drone! Just kidding. Absolutely nothing, haha

    • Wonder if there is actually any prizes. They said thee will be 2 million prizes, and thought telstra only had around 2 million subscribers. So technically everyone should get something?

  • Zilch, not even an email

    • Just got the email today (23rd)

  • +1

    100 points x 1,500,000
    500 points x 400,000
    1,000 points x 169,700

That list of 100 points winners definitely doesn't have 1.5 million names on it

    • It's Telstra, of course they'll mess it up.

    • +1

I just had 1000 points added as a prize. I'm saving up for a pet collar so I know where I left my dog. 4000 points to go!

      • Nice! Did they email you at all?
