Disgrace to the classic original Nokia 8800 Sirocco name, one of the most beautiful phones made, but there you go. That's all Nokia has become unfortunately, another me-too brand. Such a shame.

I still have my 8800 Sirocco but it doesn't work here anymore

      • Gosh, I missed that ball bearing slider. That thing was smooth.

    • Yeah, I would take it straight away if it was the Arte or the Sapphire Arte.

Only thing ticks is the OLED at this price. SD835 and no wide angle lens just kill it.

BTW the 8800 Arte now going for over 2K… CRAZY!!

  • just be aware this is SD835; current gen is 865.

Comes shipped from Hong Kong huh. How are you going to get it here to Australia since all flights from Hong Kong to Australia are cancelled are you thinking of that?. Even sea freight is grounded into Australia too right as far as i'm aware. How are you going to get the phone delivered to Australia?. Nothing is leaving Hong Kong through freight as far as i'm aware. So be aware of that before you buy this from Hong Kong.

It does say offered and supplied by Kogan HK which means the stock is in Hong Kong. You're not getting that stock shipped to Australia any time soon. Just letting you know to be aware.

QF97 flies some days BNE-HKG. And from time to time I check the Flightradar app and see a lot of "heavies" (B744, MD11 etc) travelling as freighters between Australia and China.
Passenger flights are stopped. Freight flights aren't.

      • Cathy Pacific is doing SYD-HK direct. Only $1400 return.

      • yep, my Ebay from china stuff is still arriving in specified times, and Amazon USA are delivering faster than Austpost from some places in Australia …

  • Was thinking to update my MotoG5S+.

Waiting for G8+ to drop again to ~381.00

Is this a better phone than moto G8+?

    Thanks in advance

I got one late last year from JB for a good price $450 i think. It now has Android 10. Curved glass all around, metal chassis. You can't put a SD card in it, it has no notification LED and the it has an industrial sized vibration thing in it which will frighten the bajeezus out of you if it's on a hard flat surface.

  • For $419 I would buy without hesitation. The only catch is Kogan, the local ones have 2 year warranty. I bought one on boxing day 2018 from JB for $550 and it's been one of the best phones I've had to date. Stupidly long battery life. Comes with clear protector shell that make finding the finger print sensor a breeze. Get regular android security updates. I'll wait patiently for the Nokia 9.[2|3] before swapping. And before this I have the Nokia 6.1 again crazy battery life! but the screen on the 8 Sirroco is way better.

    • love my nokia 7.1 plus …. it's on lastest version of android, gets monthly security updates, long battery life, and is Andrfoid One so no bloatware.

  • Anyone had USB port/charging problems with these or did they fix them for this generation? My Nokia 8 (original, not Sirocco) has been a pain.

Tempting but I struggle to buy another phone with the same processor (SD835) when a little bit more can get me something a couple of generations later (albeit not Android One, and probably with a less nice screen)

Not had an issue with my Nokia 8, had it for around 2 years.

  • It was a good phone before upgrading to Android 10 two weeks ago…

    • Mine's been great after the upgrade.
Only issue is a 'silent' notification being stuck.
      What issues are you having?
