  • What is the difference between Lite and normal one?

      wait….

      https://www.sammobile.com/news/galaxy-tab-s6-lite-vs-galaxy-…

      quite a bit different

Amoled (2560x1600) vs tft led (2000x1200)
      bluetooth pen vs normal unpowered
      SD855 vs Exynos 9611
in-display fingerprint sensor vs no biometric authentication

      • So worth to buy it over the normal Tab S6?

        • +1

I'd probably wait for a sale on the S4, comes with the pen and has an amoled screen.
There was a sale recently but that might have been it.

          • @Caped Baldy: Oh I was about to purchase this. After $50 discount the 4G model 64GB would be $509

          • +1

@Caped Baldy: S4's pen does not have bluetooth - equivalent to Note 8's S-Pen
but it's not a bad thing that you don't need to recharge it.

        • +1

they're not comparable I don't think, it should probably be compared with the tab s4 like this previous deal

Tab S4 has a better chip see here, but the tab S6 lite would probably be better as it will continue to be updated and has the newer S pen

Also, probably worth some extra cents to buy the 128GB as it has 6GB Ram and don't forget the $50 voucher for newsletter signup

          • @ln28909: Are you sure the 128 GB got 6GB Ram?
I can't see any information regarding the 6GB model.

Is the S6 lite better than the Tab S5e?

    • +1

      Lower resolution screen
      Lower resolution cameras
      Lcd screen
      Can't remember what else..

      • Processor is better, but screen is worse. Tab mostly used for reading and watching, so that's a poor tradeoff.

      • S5e also has amazing sound due to quad speakers. S6 lite only dual

    • S6 lite has TFT screen = Junk

  • +1

Glad I got the S5e then, will be holding onto that one.
I really dont care for the S-PEN.
I have a surface pro as well with the pen and hardly ever used it.

A just released mid-range Tablet from Samsung and only 4GB of RAM? I don't understand why. Otherwise I would be 100% tempted.

  • OLED is better for media consumption.
LCD is better than OLED if note-taking or typing documents are a priority.
    No burn in.

    • I would still choose OLED in any case

  • I just purchased one today at full price, still sealed, I guess it’s likely that Officeworks will reduce price tomorrow so they don’t have to beat by 5%. Has anyone taken stuff back under their 30 day policy then buy it at the cheaper price?

    • Will they take it back for a change of mind? With the whole covid19 pandemic, I find a lot of stores aren't refunding now, for a change of mind.

      • +1

Still says changes of minds is ok on website. I think that applied to products people were hoarding like hand sanitiser, toilet paper etc.

        • +1

          It's worth a try then… I would

  • As a general population, how can I buy from epp portal?

    • +3

Sign up for a Diploma of Sustainability @ University of Tasmania

      • Is it just to have an edu.au email?

As I can use my kids school email

    • Simple answer you can't

  • You must know a kid surely? All you need is brief access to a .edu.au email to get to the education portal last time I did it.

    • Just subscribed using my kids email but then it throws this message:

Welcome, please validate your Samsung account to access the Industry Partner Store
Please enter your employee email below to verify your Samsung account.

      Employee Email:________

      • It seems you went to the EPP portal, you need to sign up at the education store portal.

    • I have 3 kids but they don't have edu email addresses

  • For those deciding between galaxy tab and iPad. From my experience developers put more effort in designing apps for iPad than android tablets. It's an unfortunate reality.

In retrospect, the Tab S6 Wifi 128gb for $639 from TGG back in December was a great deal.

Given the feature comparison I'm so glad I jumped on that.

  • With the $50 voucher, the 64gb Wifi model comes down to $389.20. Also keep in mind that the s-pen is included, which is usually a $120+ additional cost if you choose an iPad. I think this is a great option for a budget tablet

    • What voucher? Thanks.

      • When you go to the Samsung education store, enter your email into the popup and they will send you a $50 off $250 spend coupon

  • The 64gb wifi is out of stock.

Edit: Does anyone know if the $50 from personal email be used to purchase from the company email through EPP?

  • Hi everyone, did anyone get stock alerts after setting it up? I have never gotten alerts even after setting it up….just wondering if it actually works…thanks

    • I never got an alert but they seem to be back in stock now
