    Java - Just don't do it! <tm>

    • -1

      Why not?

      • -3

        So buggy.

        • +11

If it's "buggy" it's likely your code is the problem, not the language.

        • U dont know jack

        Where's the bold text?

  • Surely there's more effective free ways to start learning a programming language than an ebook?

    • +5

Yes! for example: The University of Helsinki’s free massive open online course
      https://java-programming.mooc.fi/

is a 3-year computer science degree more effective?

      • +2

CS degree is far broader than just learning programming principles and a language.

You will learn discrete mathematics, systems analysis and various computer languages probably two or three.

  • Even though this might help but I doubt I will ever read it.
Goes into the library of my so many unread ebooks.

Worst travel guide ever, would not recommend to anyone!
It all talked about class oriented and object oriented. I don't care about possessions nor what caste a person is from, that's not what I wanted to know about Java!

    • Haha not sure why you've been down voted.

    • I would upvote you twice for this comment if I could. Really brought a smile to my face.

    Java applets…

    This stuff is old as.

  • Java's dead and has been for years.

Final nail in the coffin was JRE becoming paid for enterprise.

    • The one time I've thanked a company for making a free product paid!

That's actually a fantastic take on it and I'm stealing that line from you :)
