[NSW] Oppo Reno 10x Zoom $600, iPhone XS Max Cases: Black Silicone $15, Black Leather $30 @ Officeworks Newcastle West

150

Perfect for those who purchased an iPhone XS Max from the recent Good Guys deal (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/534532).

I'm unsure whether this is store specific (Newcastle West, NSW) or nation-wide.

I've used various Apple leather and silicone iPhone cases for the past 5 years and find them great - slim, snug fit, and nice hand-feel.

  • Only for XS Max nothing for 11 or other models on clearance?

    • +1

Only for XS Max at Newcastle West - no idea about other stores.
Smaller iPhone XS silicone case was discounted, but no stock left.

Dont buy those leather cases, they suck hard.

    They are slippery to hold.

    • is there any good case for xs max ?

  • +1

Great price but if you can’t get one I’ve found the Kmart version silicon for $6 is almost identical

I'm unsure whether this is store specific (Newcastle West, NSW) or nation-wide.

Seems to be a good outright price based on previous deals (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/product/oppo-reno-10x-zoom).

    GSMArena specification link here (https://www.gsmarena.com/oppo_reno_10x_zoom-9654.php).

Edit: thanks to xyron for pointing out a better deal for the 5g variant (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/536051)

theyre not heroes, theyre only matching harvey norman: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/536051

(and not even since they're $1 more expensive)

      • +2

That's good, just means you can price beat HNs price

      • So it's the same phone with a different name?

        • +6

No they are 2 different phones, one with a 5g modem and one without.

          • @Stefce: How did Oppo manage to use the same snapdragon 855 on both phones but only one has 5G? Thought Qualcomm made it mandatory on all of their newer chipsets? Is it simply disabled on this model then?

            • @vawiyoci: for all first gen 5G phones. they are doing regular soc + a 5g modem. i think newer 5G phones get 5G modem intergrated into the soc

    • Is that possible to download Oxygen OS on this phone?

      • +1

Probably not oxygen, there's probably other roms out there, sucks because it's such a nice phone and for the price it's good. We'll probably never get oneplus in Australia too

        • How is the software? Can you make it like stock android because colour os is too ugly. I was actually looking at getting the HN one but the lack of updates is an issue.

          • @[Deactivated]: Misses has the reno 2z, she went from an iPhone to that and she liked it because it was so similar to iPhone. Personally not a fan but I use a oneplus 7pro, the new update of color os7 looks much better over os6 and full dark mode on system is very well done. Updates are slower then oneplus but for the price and the warranty in Australia existing its a good buy in my opinion.

Updates now days are far from drastic as they used too and I think os7 update has been a very good one.

I would go for 5G version as it is more future proof and save the 1buck

5G version is also 10x zoom though

      • +1

5g is single sim and HN's deal is Optus version, you do not know when android 10 will come. This 10x however is scheduled next month and dual sim. I would buy this over the 5g. Unless you are using 5g now. Future proof does not exist in mobile world. Only for marketing. one or two years later every phone will support 5g and 5g plan will be cheaper. By that time you will be using another phone.

      • It's not that future proofed, Telstra is going to back FDD 5G in the future, which the X50 doesn't support. It's going to get really confusing on phones that have the x50 and x55 in the near future on what even works.

Besides, by the time we start getting mmWave it'd probably be time to upgrade the phone anyway.

    • Does this one have the dual SIM? HN/Optus one was single sim.

      • +1

        yeah this one has dual.

    • Not on listed on their site for some reason

      • +2

Maybe taken down to change price? Edit: Nowhere lists it at all now!

  • Wondering if the iPhone XS silicone case is nation-wide ?

    • I bought the last XS silicone case at Newcastle West.
Sticker price was $35 (was $69 - which is $4 more than RRP) but scanned at $25.
Weird pricing, but the XS case was still more expensive than the XS max case for some reason.

      • Do you have a photo of the receipt? Wondering if anyone will price match

    • +1

      Some are.

I brought an iPhone XS Black Leather Case 3 weeks ago for $35.
