What kind of noise do the ear cups make? Tick-tick, tock-tock, or squeak-squeak?
Given your experience, would you call these Bose Noise Generating 700 Headphones?

I read a couple of days ago that there's a Special Edition colour/pack coming that includes The Charging Case. Might be worth holding fire till then.
But yeah, if they've got creaking like avseqcfc mentions, I'd steer clear. Just my preference.
How's the microphone on these for making calls? Just returned a pair of WH1000XM3's after experiencing how bad the mic is.
It's good, have them for work calls as mic was important to me, and no complaints so far, to colleagues and lawyers.

I did the same gunnut. Returned those xm3s due to really bad mic. I've got the 700s almost a year now, and can highly recommend them. Mic is really good, so go ahead

I hae the xm3's and phone calls are quite clear. I use these for work skype calls ad these are more comfier than my work jabra evolve 75.
These headphones are amazing on comfort, sound and noise cancelling but the headphones itself makes this stupid noise, as there is no hinges on the ear cups, they are held together by the two ends and when you walk the 2 ends strike the ear cups and it's making me crazy.
