Con confirm these pans are workhorses. We have the "Hard Titanium Non-Stick Frypan 30cm" listed above, and it hasn't skipped a beat in a year or so of daily use.

This is stark contrast to our $300 Woll pan (whose RRP was more IIRC) which lost its nonstick after only a few months. I'd get these any day of the week over a pricey nonstick.

    • +1

Definitely built to last. My mum has a bunch of tefal pots, pans, and trays which she bought 10-15 years ago that work good as new with consistent use đź‘Ś

    • +3

Also, I should add that Big W have these for half price a couple of times a year.

    • Dumb question but can you really use them without any oil?

      • +4

probably could but your food won't be satisfying.

      • +1

We do omelettes for the kids every morning with almost negligible oil and it has been fine.

The best non-stickiness is on the patterned part on the base of the pan. Unfortunately the patterned bit doesn't over the edge of the base, so that's the only place where's a bit of trouble. Unfortunately a runny egg will gravitate to the edge sometimes.

      • This works best if you're cooking something that has no sauce.

If it has sauce, I find the sauce sometimes makes it stick a little more.

If I'm cooking something that has the propensity to stick at all, I'll usually just line the pan with a fine layer of oil that I spread around with a paper towel. This doubles up the non-stick I find, making the non-stick perform even greater.

All in all though the non-stick on Tefal from my experience, is up there with the best that I've used.

  • Are these BFOA free?

    • +2

      They are PFOA Free

      They are 50% free

Probably the longest lasting non stick pans for the price. My are a year and a half old and still going great.

This stuff is great for those less delicate in their cooking habits.

Will Myer price match that? Do Myer Price match?

  • Is the titanium pan suitable for induction?

  • +8

I have had at least 5-6 Tefal nonstick (different variants) and most of them start peeling in about 6 months. I think it is the Asian way of cooking (high heat stir fry), and nonstick pans/woks are just not able to cope.

Now I just go with cast iron wok/pans and they work great.

I would not recommend Tefal (nonstick in general) to anyone intending to use these for Asian dishes.

    • +2

No wonder. All my nonstick pans start peeling fairly quickly, I thought they were all scam. Unfortunately, woks don't work well with electric stoves.

      • Maybe consider getting an portable induction cooktop, they heat up a lot faster than electric ones. (I ditched my electric stoves)

    • was totally gonna get one until i saw your comment cheers. it's not just Asian cuisine but searing chicken, steak, and fish would require the same treatment.

These really last, got mine last week and are still going strong

Going strong after a whole week huh

      • Guess this is why jv uses bold.

Website is not working properly. Won't let me add anything to cart or login.

    • Having the same issue - really wanting the 30cm frypan.

      • Trying to get that one myself :D

We've had our current Tefal pan for about 5 years but it's peeling. Need a new one.

    • +3

About the usual level of Myer on-line competence. They seem to have consistently the most fragile eCommerce store that I've wanted to use. Perhaps is says something about the continuing viability of this brand (Myer) when they still can't get their on-line presence to be anything within cooee of reliable.

    • Website now has black banner saying they are trying to fix things……..sorry bla bla bla

  • +1

skip those and grab one of these with their $10 off promo.

    • +2

ours lost its non-stick after two years of use

Edit: I just checked and it's covered by 5-years warranty - time to go and replace it!

    • +1

My Ikea pan lost the non-stick coating after less than one year. Can not recommend.

      • replace

      • +2

dishwasher? non-stick safe sponge? non-metallic cooking utensils?

    • +1

Ikea TROVĂ„RDIG are the best. To those complaining about losing non-stick: this is a new line with Teflon Professional which is better than anything Tefal use, and they have a five year warranty.

      • same with their 365 range. though you can't get a proper seal with a lid due to handle placement.

  • I bought https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/tefal-gourmet-anodised-20cm-f… from ebay goodguys last year and still going strong. Its no longer available on eBay but Goodguys has it in store

  • Website working….at least I could add to bag (30cm frypan)

  • +1

Used to get those Teflon pans back in the day but rather not use them, The surface coatings just degrade after a while, kept on swapping them Under warranty.

Cast aluminium seems good for a reasonable cost, cast iron pretty expensive. Otherwise just get the cheapest crap non stick pan lol.

ALDI has some stuff there at the moment

  • I think when you post a deal which is on the first page of pricehipster, you should actually give credit to the website. I see that going on lately and no one is mentioning them.

    • And you know for a fact that the OP found this on Price Hipster first… how, exactly?

    • Actually, it was Google Ads that I should give credit to!

Fair point on PriceHipster though - I'll keep in mind for future posts.

  • +1

The site is back now. Thank you OP, I got one.
However, I didn't get order confirmation email and can't see my order on their homepage. I just got a payment notification email from Paypal. Anyone experienced it?

    • It took about 10 minutes for the order to show up in my account and for the email confirmation to come through.

  • Quality of Tefal dropped dramatically over last ten years. I would not touch them. Rather go Victoria basement for something decent

  • What's the difference between the stainless steel and the hard Anodised pan?

  • I've a few of the Jamie Oliver Tefals, not bad compared to heavy scanpans..

  • The wokpan is an all time fave of mine!

  • Good pans, not as good as the swiss diamond but good enough.
I just bought the crepe pan, so thanks OP.

  • Thanks OP!

  • was after the one at aldi on special buys today,
all sold out in an hour or two

  • Nice pans. Would have loved to buy and add them to our small kitchen collection. But the above two are already out of stock.

  • There are three tefal grades of non-stick:
    Tefal Titanium Force (Cheapest)
Tefal Titanium Pro (Coating lasts x2 as long)
Tefal Titanium Excellence (Coating lasts x3 as long)

The Tefal French Heritage (Titanium Excellence) frying pans are still in stock.
    https://www.myer.com.au/search?query=french%20heritage

Not sure if it's going to be worth twice the price (Pro vs Excellence) but I just picked up the 26 and 30cm French Heritage. See how it goes I guess :)

  • I bought the Tefal 30cm Saute pan with lid from Harris Scarfe yesterday, it scanned at $49.99.

My order for the frypan was cancelled today, disappointing.
