After factoring in shipping costs (which is $29), you might as well get a Lenovo E520 with Sandy Bridge CPU + Bonus 500GB pocket drive for $550 delivered. Could be even cheaper with a discount code in the future too.

Not a bargain and seems to be MLN flogging off old stock (i3 but not Sandy Bridge). This is better: http://www.centrecom.com.au/catalog/43343pm-lenovo-g570-4334…

it has been this price as part of their deal of week for god knows how long

  • junk

    • How so? Care to elaborate?

      • I agree with kheob and scrimshaw. After getting the e520 with second gen i3 ,7200 rpm spinner and 500gb usb drive for $430 delivered, this deal does not seem up to scratch (to me). I know that deal isn't available now but another soon will be. (edit (you would think English is my second language))

Fair enough. That sounds much better than just 'junk' as a reason.

In all fairness to the OP, that deal you had was no longer available. i.e. you cant get the same deal anywhere else at thepresent time, so there is no point comparing withpast deals.

Fair enough MOD?! They are comparing apples to oranges! Since when this was fair enough?! It’s like all laptops are generic and the brand does not make any difference! Can you compare a Sony Vaio with similar specifications to a cheaper Acer with better specifications?! Of course not! And the same should apply here! Their reasons should entitle them not to vote positive only, voting negative on these basis is completely unethical and unjustifiable.

        • 2true2btrue,

Previously, yes we were actively moderating negative votes and would use our judgments to revoke negative votes which were not inline with our voting guidelines. But ever since automation was introduced, we generally try not to moderate these and rely on democracy unless it is absolutely necessary for us to step in.

Now was the reasoning for the negative vote justified? Maybe not. And if you think it should be revoked, then vote down the comment.

Rather than hijacking this thread, please continue any discussions on negative voting in one of the many threads about negative voting in the forums. Please keep any further discussions here about the deal in question, otherwise they will be removed as off-topic.
