    • +1

      ^ This please!

    • +2

would jump in too if there was a deal with solar panel

    • +1

      I'd jump on this also

Hi, We appreciate the support to our products.
Here's a code for you to save 15% on the solar panel if you purchase it with Reolink battery camera: 44Z7BX2F
The code will be active from 7:00 PM AEST on May 13.
Feel free to contact us here or click 'contact seller' on Amazon page. :)

      • If camera and solar panel are purchased together should we get a free delivery? But it seems we will be charged delivery fees.

        • If you are a prime member, it will be free. We use FBA fulfillment and we didn't set any delivery fees. AMZ system will determine whether to charge or not.

This doesn't work for me, it only lets me use FFDUG6KU. So do they not stack?

      • same here, coming up as $125.23 for the pair :(

  • +2

How long does the battery generally last? It'd be a pain having to recharge it every few days.

    • 2mths+ Unless constantly triggering and recording

    • +1

With a solar panel it won't go flat. I haven't tested mine without

  • I've got a nestcam outdoor IQ and need another cam. Anyone have this and can share any feedback?

    • +4

I have the reolink setup, and am really happy with the bang for buck!

I have the argus eco, and a couple of indoor pan/tilt cameras, and the video quality is excellent. Has both a fluent viewing mode (low res, for low quality links) and a full HD mode. The night vision is amazing, the battery and solar panel in Melbourne is always above 90% battery, and the app is very easy to use.

Setup is simple, it speaks to you and you setup the app on the phone, then point the camera at a barcode on your phone and the camera joins your wifi network. Easy!

The inbuilt micro SD cards are great (must supply your own card) and I did sign up for a $60 a year (I think it was) for 5 camera to cloud storage. You can just keep it on the SD card if you wish.

I came from D-Link land, couldn't afford the newer stuff pitched at JB HiFi, and the reolink stuff has been amazing. I now have fun watching the local fox wander around my front yard at night (suburban Melbourne!), is high def, night vision quality.

Their support is also highly attentive, pleasant and recently helped me when I stuffed up my own account setup. Great range of battery, powered and POE cameras to choose from too (and often on special, and yes get the solar panels, they really let you put the cameras anywhere you can get some direct sun to the panel…. ie up a tree, off the back fence etc)…

Overall, I've had them over a year, and super happy. (and looking at a couple more cameras, when I have the cash).

      • Is the motion sensor working properly?

        • +4

Works fine for me. I did turn the sensitivity up a touch, and it certainly doesn't record much of what it shouldn't. I do get the occasional late start (someone is is 5-6 m in front of the camera instead of the planned 10-12)…

I don't have it notifying though, I just let it record. I also have alot of trees, so if it is a reallly windy day, I might get a few triggers per hour. Each trigger gives a 15second clip. But I've loaded up the cameras with 64GB cards and they seem only to be using around 10GB a month for a driveway, regular car going in and out, visitors, cats, foxes etc…

          • @flyingnoddy: Thank you

          • @flyingnoddy: So the Reolink doesn't use infrared or person detection? Having a lot of footage because of moving trees sounds frustrating…

            • @y2k: I Have a different brand and..
yes false triggers due to light changing in a room, clouds or planes creating a shadow for a second etc, or a moth flying in front of the garage cam is annoying..
I think real person detection would be amazing, just not willing to spend the money for that.

      • Thanks for the insights. Just some quick question.

        • How's the response time with detecting motion and getting an alert in their app? Is it reliable enough to catch a mailman dropping a package or someone knocking on the door. Reason why I went with Nest over Arlo was back then was because Arlo's response time was apparently poor. So curious about this cam.

        • Does it have an option to save data to the cloud rather than SD card? I don't really need to save data past a day or two. I only need to know who came by and who broke in (if it ever happens), and 1 day worth of backdated footage is sufficient.

        • I don't use the alerts, so can't give any insight there.

But yes it has the option to save to card and/or cloud. A free cloud account gives you 1 camera. A paid up account then scales up (check the pricing per year).

Also as per tempco below, I have the argus eco, which has the PIR sensor, and it's a whole lot less sensitive to small motion. Although slightly the other way (triggers a little late, but rarely a false trigger!)

Overall I'm a very happy Reolink customer, and look forward to joining their PR team shortly ! lol…

        • I have 2 x DLink DCS-8300LH and it provides 24hr fee cloud storage, just the false triggers can be annoying, there isnt too many being indoor cams, but still, triggering due to a shift in the rooms brightness or even when it hears its own infra red lights turn on is silly..

      • Do you know if you can set up a timelapse with these cameras?

    • +1

If you're looking for an outdoor cam I'd suggest sticking to the more recent Reolink models that use PIR motion sensing - they don't pick up bugs flying around as much so false flags are rare (I have an Argus Eco that I'm very happy with and have another one on the way).

  • Any feedback which is better Reolink Argus Pro or Reolink Argus 2
    https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B0786XGM8M/ref=ox_sc_sa…

Edit argus 2 is out of stock on amazon now

    • +1

Even though Argus 2 and Argus Pro have the same case, there are still two differences between them:

Argus 2 is embedded with Starlight 1080P sensor while Argus Pro comes with a normal 1080P sensor.
Argus 2 supports both outdoor security mount and wall magnetic mount, while Argus Pro only supports the former.
      source

      • So which is better?

        • Argus 2.. Starlight Sensor is though to be better from what I understand it has better low light performance and I guess the various mounting options give you more 'options/choice'.. I've not looked up the price difference but I guess that might help choose if those 2 features are worth it for you (I would still suggest checking out some comparison video's on youtube if low light is important for you to get an idea of how much better it is.

  • +3

I have Argus 2 less than a year and not recording oftenly, possibly twice a day for less than a minute each. After a few months, I forgot to charge the battery and I tried to charge it, it won't turn on at all. Dead. But luckily covered by warranty, so will get a new one.
Trying to find if any store sell the battery at all, but cannot find any. Meaning we are doomed when the battery is dead, no replacement.

    • Best to set a reminder to charge or increase recording sensitivity.

  • +1

Compared to other panels for security cameras, the Reolink one looks well priced

    • +1

Yes, one of the reasons I went with them first, found a special similar to this for a camera and a panel, and was able to dip my toe into the Reolink ecosystem for around $100, and then scaled up from there. The $500+ packs just scared me off (and I didn't have $500 up front to play with, and I didn't want to wait to save it either!)…

A lot of reviews say it doesn't work with Google Home? Can anyone confirm?

    • Hi, this Argus Pro camera works with Google Home. Here's the guide for your reference:

  • +3

Anyone got this working with home assistant?

    • I am curious too, the description has Google Assistant Compatible but the reviews I have read do not mention Google Assistant at all.

With no GA I would prefer to spend extra and get Eufy

      • "OK Google Open Reolink App and cast to (TV)." or something along those lines.

If you meet any difficulties with the camera, feel free to contact us (click 'contact seller' on Amazon). We will provide free technical support.

  • This looks pretty neat for the price. I'm also interested in Google Home & Hub integration.

If it works (?), are you able to trigger alerts with the motion detection, or is that only available on the mobile app?

Hey OP @dealbest , any deals on Argus 2 + solar panel?

    • Hi. We are sorry that Argus 2 + solar panel is out of stock now. It will be available at the end of this month. We will consider run deals after that.

      • Thanks will definitely purchase if there is a deal on the Argus 2. How about the Eco?

        • +1

Sorry that Eco, Eco+solar are also out of stock and we are not sure about the available date.

    • Also keen on the Argus 2 + solar panel package. Think I'll wait this one out.

  • +4

Hey OP - i'm also interested in if you can do a deal on a:
    * 2 pack of cameras instead of one (i'd like to do one out the front of my place, and one out the back)
    * 2 pack with solar panel included

    • +2

We are sorry that currently, we don't sell 2-pack in AU. It is suggested that you and order 2 cameras and 2 solar panels.
      Here're the codes:
FFDUG6KU - 15% on Argus Pro (Active now)
44Z7BX2F - 15% on the solar panel if you purchase it with Reolink battery camera. (will be active from 7:00 PM AEST on May 13)

      • Hi OP I tried to put the order for 3 Argus Pro, and 3 solar panel but it calculates to $375 instead of $360 if i tried to put a code i only able to get 15% only for one of them.

            • @BallBelter: Curious if this works - seems a gamble if you never get to see the discounted price on the screen. Did the charge to your actual card get discounted?

              • @y2k: Not sure yet. It takes a couple of days for transactions to show on the account with my bank.

                • +2

@BallBelter: I ordered as per thier terms. I am following up with them. Maybe you should do the same.
