Are you serious? More than half of the countries in the world don't even recognize Taiwan as a sovereignty. So technically, he wasn't that wrong, lol.

Most laptops on the market are made in China, so I don't think there's any difference. But at least if you buy a Taiwan made product, you know the money stays in Taiwan and they don't usually flow across the border. I'm not sure if Acer laptop is made in Taiwan or not, but I know my home PC (Asus and MSI) are.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the genuine Thunderbolt port - Very rare in laptops under 1k.

For those who want a review.

I've had this for 1 week now and use it everyday.

Screen is very nice and seems quite colour accurate, wish it got just a bit brighter, but still, not terrible. Build quality is pretty good overall.
Keyboard is pretty good. I have massive hands and this keyboard works pretty well for me. It's fairly comfortable and have no problem typing with the backlit keys a nice touch.
Mouse pad is just ok. Does the job. It is a little 'loose', but nothing too dramatic.
Speakers - Very average and way too soft. Has a headphoe jack and Bluetooth - you will be wanting to utilise this for sound.
Hard drive speed is incredible since they switched to nvme. Thing thing is off to logging in with fingerprint in under 10 seconds - very fast.
This 10th gen CPU is a beast. Unless you want to game, this laptop is for anyone who wants something good for cheap. Did I mention the Thunderbolt? :P

I have a last gen i3 version and completely agree that and everything else. They are awful.

      Pretty solid little unit though.

    • Does it have thunderbolt? On the website it only advises USB Type C.

      • With a full range of connectivity options including full function USB-C™, Thunderbolt 3 the Swift 3 is capable of quickly connecting too many state-of-the-art devices. And, to be sure you can connect to legacy devices it also comes with USB 3.1 Gen 2 and a display port.

        It's under the overview tab.

      • Confirmed already. But yes, 100%

        • That's great, unsure why they didn't display it under spec list as it's definitely a selling point

    • can always buy an egpu with that thunderbolt slot! :)

I'd jump at this if i actually needed a new laptop.
