  I mean.. yea it's cheap, and hooray it's a really good Airlines - but I suspect many people will want to travel and get hit by a second wave. The virus isn't gone yet.

  Out of curiosity, what's the refund/change of date policy with Singapore Airlines at the moment? I'm in Adelaide, so the issue would be more so getting out of SA/into VIC. Not sure how many domestic flights are operating right now, and if/when they'll lift the mandatory 14-day quarantine by then.

  If legally I can't leave the country and enter NZ as an Australian citizen by August, if I book the flight, would SG be under any obligation to refund/reschedule? Does anyone know how SG has been dealing with this thus far?

  If borders between NZ and Australia open up, the government will almost certainly require all aircraft to be dedicated to that route, with no transit passengers. Possibly operated out of the domestic terminals too.
  These Singapore Airlines planes are likely routing through to other destinations.

  So I wouldn't count of these flights being accessible.

  These deals should still be banned for the time being. They just amount to an offer to become an unsecured creditor for an airline at this point.

    You'd have to be living under a rock to book this without considering the current situation.

    If people think given the likelihood of trans Tasman travel returning and the discount offered that this represents a good deal and they want to upvote it let them. No need to ban these deals, let the community decide.

    I can see them in august. $331 on their website direct. That said they don't appear to have the customer friendly terms other airlines are offering. The only Covid policy I can see is free rebooking (pay fare difference) for flights up to 30/06/20.

    Too risky for me at this time but as soon as the travel bubble is announced I'm booking a week over there.

  This is all about getting some money flowing into the various businesses. Good luck getting a refund the best you'll get is a credit, but if you are fine with that then go ahead. I'd be waiting til i know borders are open personally.
  I also can't wait to be travelling again, but patience is what will getthat happening sooner rather than later.

    • Buy cheap ticket for a flight that's going to be cancelled anyway.
    • Get flight credit instead of refund, because that's the policy.
    • Spend more adding to the credit once flights are possible and back to more expensive.

    You're spending money to lock yourself to this particular airline and to spend more with them when you can actually fly.

      I’ve read that Singapore airlines were quite fast in giving out refunds for canceled flights in the past two months. Can’t say the same about Aussie operators. I would fly and trust Singapore Airlines over every other airline.

  Yeah, nah…pass. Not much optimism that International flight would resume anytime soon plus Dont need the headaches of calling them and being put on hold for an hour trying to organise the refund.
