Just got my confirmation that my order is ready to be collected tonight. The unit is also over $100 so should qualify for free shipping.

    • +3

Delivery not available for this product (in my area, anyway), and no stock near me.

      • Just ordered mine for home delivery and yes it was free (Northern Sydney area)

  • +4

Nice one! Get in before all the resellers.

Edit: showing in stock at JB also for in store purchase. Around 3088 (Greensborough) heaps of stores have restocked. $5 more expensive but of stock available you could price match to Big W.

    • Nice one, just checked my local JB (Marion SA) and they are showing stock for pick up only.

  • This looks really fun but I don't want to buy a switch just for this…

    • +2

Then buy it for this and all the other accessible, fun games.

  • is it still in demand ?

    • +1

I have been checking every week for several months and always seem to miss when they are in stock. This is the first time I have seen actual stock for a couple of months.

      Edit: Spelling

    AND IT'S GONE!!

  • +1

Finally nabbed something after missing out on all the previous deals. Just hoping this doesn't magically get delayed "indefinitely" like my EB games preorder…

  • Goddamit I clicked my search alert as soon as it came up only to see that it was 25 minutes late. Oh well

  • Some JB Hi-Fi has got new stock in and its instore only for $124 if you want it asap.

  • I saw this, saw Broadmeadows had it, then after quickly talking about it with my partner Broadmeadows was out of stock. Watergardens had one at least, so I'm going there tomorrow.

So far, gotten quite the workout in just 10 minutes. Time will tell how I go, but impressed with it so far.

  • no stock anywhere in Perth. Big W or JB Hifi.

    • +3

The truck could still be on the way with stock, check again tomorrow morning and Saturday.

      • Didn't think of that. Thanks.

  • +1

    Is this any good?

    • +2

As someone who hates gyms, loathes working out but can addicted to most games yeah it’s good. It’s very good at keeping you motivated enough to stick with a workout routine and see some improvement. However it does get pretty repetitive… like working out does. Good if you just can’t get off the couch to go for a run and need something more appealing to get you going. Better than a rusting gym membership.

      • Ok thanks

My wife wanted to know if involved squats

        • Yes. Squats, overhead squats and wide squats. Ranging from 2 reps (easiest difficulty) to ~40 reps (hardest difficulty).

          • +1

@Erkel: Thanks I’ll let her know

Might be worth getting to watch her do that while I sit on the couch with a beer or 7

    • Yeah pretty fun, the workouts get mixed up often so you're not just doing the same thing over and over.

  • So is this the Switch version of Wii Fit? How fit is this going to get me?

    • Fit yes, buff no. It’s mostly body workouts. The ring doesn’t have enough weigh or force to build decent muscle, though if you added your own body weights you could amp the results.

  • Dats value

  • +2

Not commenting on the quality of the game but considering the simple electronics the ring contains it is massively overpriced (the joycon control you own and plug in controls 95% of the functions). Nintendo must be making crazy money on this so props on them for getting people to buy it. I think wiifit was better value for money considering the device you got but the ring fit software does seem much more interesting.

    • +1

wii fit was one of the best u have to say
I have ting for, it's good but just got great like wii fit

    • +2

I would agree that the physical product is not worth the asking price, however the combination of fitness game and the ring is extremely well done to get someone motivated to excercise. Especially if you are a gamer.

      • +2

Honestly game wise I thought Wii Fit was a better motivator, though not as effective in changing your level of fitness by itself, the games in Wii Fit had better "replayabilty" imo while Ring Fit doesn't have much course/obstacle/mini game variety, the story isn't amazing especially after a while it gets quite dull and looking at the stats in Wii Fit felt more interesting to me (though at least they finally fixed the online leaderboards in Ring Fit and don't takes minutes to load anymore). Still good, especially for the first worlds but from a longer term from the motivation aspect as a game, personally think it isn't as good.

    • +1

People evaluate products on the whole experience, not what the specific hardware costs are.

But yes afaik the ring is fairly simple - Unfortunately, there's no (legal) way to get the game without also getting the ring…

    • +1

You’re not just paying for a ring though, you’re paying for the R&D that went into this whole thing and making it worhwhile.

It does come with a game as well which would normally be $70, plus you have to think about the cost that went into developing exercises that could be done by a very wide range of people and working out how to accurately track them with the joy-cons. Not only that, the ring should be high quality given it will have to last the amount of times it is going to be squeezed and stretched, again by people with a wide range of physical strength and ability.

  • This is back in stock @ JB - instore only. I picked up a copy at the Greensborough store today. They only had half a dozen available though.

    • +1

      Which store was this?

      • +2

        ? Literally wrote it. Greensborough.

  • Cheers! Back in stock @0536pm

  • Got it from my local JB. # winning

Wanted to buy two just because but I didn't…

  • annnnnd it's gone !

I got this game during the last deal when it was posted on ozbargain. I've done 10 days of workouts and am about lv15, and play on difficulty: 24. I was already fit prior to playing but dont lift.

The game definitely gives you a good workout, i always end up working a sweat. But it relies on you to push yourself to keep it challenging. You start with a small range of basic body exercises but learn new ones as you play more. The workouts rely on high repetitions and there is no time limit, so it is up to yourself to maintain good form and not slack. The ring-con also offers more variety through resistance exercises. Also, keep in mind that on some levels, you might lose the fight (and need to redo the level) despite doing nothing wrong; I assume this is as intended although it can be frustrating.

The minor problem i have is that the leg strap isn't very secure. It tends to slip when jogging and I would end up needing to readjust it 2-4 times each workout session. But it's a minor problem since it doesnt slip during the workout exercises, only jogging. Otherwise I cant think of any other issues i have with the game so far. Highly recommend, very fun game and visually appealing.

I would play this game everyday if I could but I already enjoy my own cardio workout.

This Ebay listing came up probably a month ago, looks like the guy is still trying to sell them haha. I remember there were 7 available originally and there are still 7 available lmao.

    • +6

He rejected my offer of $7 for 7 :(

  • +3

This game has been super aggravating for me. Never have I seen something so laughably oversupplied, yet still the majority of buyers are hoarding scalpers. Waiting for demand to drop so I can spend my time offering people $80 on their $180 listings.

    • +1

I feel your pain. It's just like "turbo man" in the Arnie movie Jingle All The Way.

But hopefully I'm not the only decent member here, always thinking like a wingman. There should be a few group-buy teams, for different regions.

  • Looks like it's out of stock in Sydney :/

  • +1

Waiting for facebook marketplace to get flooded again with overpriced ringfits

  • yass! just ordered 1 for delivery in S.A, confirmation email also sent

  • Ordered this but just picked up a copy from JB Hifi Hurstville. Will be cancelling my order so should have one in stock here soon. Good luck friends

  • JB in Prahran have stock if ya'll don't mind the extra $5
Just went down and picked up myself a copy, had to ask over the counter as they've only just had it delivered today.

Finally can do some home cardio then forget about it after gyms reopen!

  • +3

This is a great way to work out at home in these current situations. The best thing about this game is it works out your whole body, especially parts where normal exercises won't cover.

I have played it for 4-5 days a week since launch. I started on medium difficulty and could only do around 15 planks before I needed to stop. Now I'm on the hardest difficulty and I can easily do 35 planks, followed by 50 overhead squats and followed with another 35 planks all non-stop before I start sweating. So this game can really improve your fitness, with a result you can definitely see in the mirror if you are dedicated enough.

If you think this is just for kids, latter boss fights can take up to 1000 reps of exercises to defeat. It is no cakewalk.

  • Been looking for a while. Got a never-ending pre-order with EB Games.
Even with alerts, I miss this of-course. Checked the JB HiFi listing, but their instore-only policy blows.

Thought I'd try big w site… Still in stock, purchased fine!!
Delivery unavailable, but I was able to do click & collect. Gonna be a great weekend for the mrs/family.

  • Just picked up from JB Hi FI Bankstown. Had to ask them to hold it for me. Only happy to hold it till close of business today. When I asked on the phone how many copies they had the guy was reluctant to say. Good luck

  • Picked it up today, played for around 2 and a half hours and honestly it's not super fun. It doesn't push you to exercise at your hardest, with no time limit or anything to push you to your limit. Story is extremely boring. Also, the character Ring is just too loud and cheesy for my liking. Plus, the game gets too repetitive after a while, the levels all have the same concept. Such a shame that I opened it up and played it… Could've sold it for RRP but now I can't :(

    • +2

If you want to exercise harder, increase the difficulty setting.

    • Did you research before purchasing??

  • "Home delivery is not available for this product."

  • +1

Was just able to place an order for delivery!

    • Same here. Just ordered for delivery ("Not available for pickup").

  • Was able to order via delivery just now via their website.

  • +1

    Ordered one too via delivery

  • +1 ordered for delivery

  • Home delivery worked on mine just now

  • Finally got a home delivery order. Hopefully it won't get cancelled

  • Ordered one for delivery, thanks OP!

  • I finally got one too. Cheers OP!

  • Major props OP, finally snagged one. My just list it on Marketplace as not for sale and tell all the other f*wits that list 6 of them to suck it

    • +1

      You might be onto something…

Buy a heap next time, and post directly in competition with scalpers, but at retail price.

  • +2

I picked this up at a WA JB Hifi the other day. Price matched Big W who had stock at the time to $119 and used a 5% off $100 voucher through AGL, so all up about $114. Have played it for 10-15 minutes (exercise time) every day for the last 3 days. Am loving it.

  • +2

Ordered when delivery was back up for Sydney metro on Friday, delivered yesterday. First session done, love it!

I don't get the hype? For anyone that has one, is it worth it?

    • I don't get the hype either but I did take the plunge and got the Ring Fit when it was available last month.

As someone whose only form of 'exercise' is normally limited to walking around the neighbourhood and discovering new neighbourhood pets/wildlife, the Ring Fit makes me unconsciously do different exercises in order to progress through the game. I now use it to exercise when it's raining/wet outside.

It is rather expensive for a game + accessories but a healthier alternative for gaming, as it requires you to be active - you will have difficulty progressing through the game by just sitting on the couch but there are ways to laze your way around certain exercises (e.g. quick, one-legged knee-to-chest :D).

      • -1

Haha. Appreciate the feedback. +1 to you good sir!

  • Amazon had stock this morning as well. Just set up an email alert for when it restocks.

Anyone know when the purple/orange joy-con set will restock? Or know where to purchase? I'm after another set.

Went to Phoenix Shopping centre Spearwood WA and wanted to check stock levels for RingFit. Appears they have 3 in stock and 8 in Cockburn Success. Was advised other Big W should have them in stock but she wasn't able to advise how many.

Below are the ones i've checked in WA
    Spearwood - 3
    Success - 8
    Armadale - 1
