      I have had a Soundlink Color Gen 1 for 4 years now. Great sound and battery still holds charge. Buy one and play The Cars Drive at full volume. You will see what you mean.

      Down the bottom of the product page there are FAQs. I believe they compare 3 models including the one you’ve mentioned. Soundlink Mini II has a better battery and deeper bass but it’s not waterproof I believe?

        It's not a very detailed comparison and the FAQ is outdated as it refers to the old SoundLink Mini II (the current model is the Special Edition) and the SoundLink Bluetooth III, which is discontinued.

        Comparing specs:

        The SoundLink Color II comes in four colours, has 8 hour battery life, Micro-USB charging, is water resistant, uses the Bose Connect app, and can be paired with another speaker for stereo sound.

        The SoundLink Mini II SE comes in two colours, has 12 hour battery life, USB-C charging, is not water resistant, doesn't use an app, and can't be paired with another speaker.

      I have this one and my gf has the sound link mini - i must say i prefer this one better. In my opinion this one seems to have a bit more base and I like the form factor; feels sturdy and i've taken it to the beach and picnics with no problems.

      I can also use my portable battery to charge the speaker so it makes it extra portable.

    I bought one for Mrs C and she just connects to her iPhone via Bluetooth. Never an issue with connectivity; if anything, it's a little promiscuous because it wants to connect to every single device within range and your sound is interrupted with "Connecting to [devicename]" all the time. Aside from that it's been great - excellent sound, long battery, and doesn't stick out like a shag on a rock (I bought a white one).

    My Bose Soundlink mini has been going strong since 2014, have travelled around the world with it.

    Only now the battery is starting to not hold charge for as long.
