Only store in NSW that has stock is Balgowlah. No delivery. I checked 3000 and 4000 and no stock in those states.

    • Bing Lee has stores in Vic?

      • -1

I'm not sure. I just typed major postcodes to check stock. To just show that this is limited to a certain store location.

  • All out of stock in the 5 nearest stores to me.

  • It says region b blu ray… Does that mean this is region locked for Australia Blu ray disks???

    • +7

Most Bluray (if not all) players in Australia are region locked.

Laser has a model region free

      • +1

can you please specify the model? and if possible the price too? Thank you.

        • -1

Most Blu-Rays can be hacked if you mash the menu button when the disc loads.

          • +1

@Mickice: Hi, what does that mean? If you don’t mind sharing?

            • @MikeSYD: What it means is, a region A disc can sometimes work in a region B AU player if you mash the top menu button while it loads, causing it to skip the region lock and load the menu.

The region free Laser players are rubbish.
My copy of Milo and Otis from us in the slim us Blu-ray case works this way. It is region A only tested on a Panasonic BD player.

      • Excluding PS4?

        • PS4 is region locked regarding Blurays.

    • Region B: Europe (including, at least for now, the UK), Africa, Middle East, Australia, and New Zealand.

There is a trick to unlock them using infrared signals. I've seen the ads for it on ebay

Has to be LAN connected 🤨

Did you find this on Pricehipster?

  • no stock?

    • Only store to have stock in NSW is 1 store. Balgowlah. It seems its also out of stock now

  • How's the user interface on this for Netflix and YouTube etc? I have an older wifi enabled blu ray player with apps and it's just terrible and laggy to use

  • Reviews are less than glowing.

    • +1

Seems its fine for playback however consumers complain about the apps lagging.

Why are people still buying dvds and bluray? You all saw what happened to CDs right ? I’ve seen people tossing collections of 5-10k worth of CDs out in the trash.

    • +1

      Poor internet connection.

      Unavailable on streaming services.

    • +2

Special features are still worth it, but mostly its for old people and technophobes

You could also argue on quality grounds, as what you stream is nowhere near as good as what you get on disc, but someone looking for quality would not be interested in this device.

Also I want to point out that the owner of those CDs probably copied everything off them. CDs, like any physical media, are just a container for information. You pay for the information.

these peoples are not very smart. nothing wrong with the sound of cds.
what i suspect is they just had shit music or their tastes changed.
or music is not that serious for them, which would be a hell a lot of people as well if popular music is anything to go by.

    • Most new cars don’t have a CD player.

But DVD’s, Bluray’s and 4K’s movies are still selling a lot.

Selection on Netflix/Amazon Prime/Apple TV/Stan is pretty limited.

  • Thanks heaps! - scored price match at JB hifi. When they double checked the site, Bing Lee removed it. Luckily they honoured the first guys check as proof.
