Alienware Advanced Gaming Keyboard AW568 $64.98 + Post/Free C&C @ EB Games

130

Not as cheap as Dell's clearance sale a couple of months back but still a bargain if you can manage to find in store.
Postage shows up as $16.95 for me. Even with postage factored in, I believe it's still the cheapest anywhere

Are you sick of people not hearing you press your keys? Are you fed up that your neighbors constantly say "Do You Even Type, Bro?" Well, this keyboard will make sure the police show up to your door because of a noise complaint. You can finally summon all the zombies you desire within a 15 mile radius all while typing your goodbye letter all on your AW568. Last but not least, it's actually great. The LED's are smooth, not blinding, and work flawlessly without stutters or awkward color switches and unnecessary flares. The keys are solid and feel great, even better then setups that cost 3X this. I haven't had a keyboard I enjoyed more, for the simplicity, and the complexity combined. You'll love it if you appreciate good products such as this one. Get it before you spend the money on Uber Eats instead. (Review from Google)

    • LOL, my review it's a solid keyboard. It's not overly noisy imo. Not worth it at RRP (is any gaming keyboard?) but under ~$80 it's worth it

show up to your door because of a noise complaint.

Using it now, not noisy at all. I have the Kogan one before a lot more noisier.

      • how does it compare to the kogan one? i got the brown switches one for 40 dollars shipped and can't be happier but wondering if its worth the upgrade.

        • Got both, so much better than the Kogan one.
Better build quality and keycaps (and font too).
Just took me a while to stop accidentally pressing the macro keys on the left-side of the keyboard.

            Me too

I want my neighbours to call the cops due to my loud keys.

    good find!

Got it in the last sale. Took a while to adjust from my old faithful keyboard as the spacing is ever so slightly different (I kept hitting CAPS instead of A for a good few weeks before I adjusted). Definitely loud if you want it to be. Nice and responsive but I haven't mastered the macro settings yet.

    • Yeah did the same with CAPS key while adjusting.

    • I also bought this during the last sale, nice keyboard, really solid… probably the heaviest keyboard I have owned. Two things I don't like about it are the smaller keycaps (90%? size) which makes it harder to type on if you're using a different sized keyboard at home/work - 10% size differnce doesn't seem like much but it really stuffs up my muscle memory.

The other issue I have with it is I sometimes hit the 5th macro key instead of ctrl when doing a quick ctrl+x/c/v as I am still used to feeling for the bottom left key.

      • Why not bind the 5th macro key to be Ctrl then?

        • Getting the ~600Mb Alienware command center application installed on a work computer is sometimes easier said than done.

          • @stinkychicken: If you're not in the IT department, maybe :P

But yeah, while I did see you mention home/work, I assumed the AW keyboard was being used at home.

  • Is this keybaord any good

    • +1

I think it’s pretty good. I’m not a mechanical keyboard expert though

  • +1

For the price this is a great all round mechnical keyboard. I find great to type on and play games, but I'm no expert at either.

  • the macro function is not as good as the brand…

  • I snapped one up to replace a Corsair K95 that was starting to sporadically duplicate my keypresses (despite updating firmware, uninstalling/reinstalling/updating Corsair iCUE, removing the keycaps and verifying the switches appeared to be clean and uninhibited)

    • The key spacing and lack of backlit keys takes getting used to, but so far it is a functional and decent keyboard.
    • Windows 10 will automatically download the Alienware Command Center application via the Microsoft Store after you plug in the keyboard and install it without your consent, so if that bothers you, be aware.
    • You cannot change individual key binds. You can only change what the Macro keys on the far left of the keyboard do. RIP my driver level GW2 dodgejump keybind.
