This wok won't last, the non stick layer will pill off…and those pilling end up in your food.
Better off get a stainless steel / carbon steel.

+1 carbon steel + properly season and treat it, and it will be like a non stick anyway!!! + you can use it on high heat without any worries

      • any recommendations?

Solidteknics - made in Australia too

Figured somebody would reco Carbon Steel Wok over this ;) Being a Cast Iron Pan owner, the idea of maintaining (i.e. season, wipe dry, re-season) another cookware puts me off sometimes (laziness bug).

      • same here

      • Anything with non-stick teflon coating aren't supposed to last more than a year or 3 years at most, I generally replace them around 2 years whether or not they look worn out. I cook primarily on woks for stir fry, have a non-stick one (any brand, currently it's Tefal) for dishes that don't require high heat and recently trying out Solidteknics wok for quick stir-frying. The disadvantage of the cast iron vs carbon steel is obviously the weight, so far my left arm is sore after constantly moving the cast iron wok back-and-forth to stir fry but I find cast iron is easier to maintain non-stick than carbon steel.

Essteele is a good brand though, I bought a set of beautiful pots in 2005 and they're still going strong.

    • Oh no! We should definitely not eat pills in our food. Pills should always be eaten on its own to maximise its purpose!

  • best one i bought is the circulon anodised wok, been using it for years

    • do you have gas or induction? just checked link, gas only

  • I prefer my Woks with a single handle…YMMV

Can't comment on the wok, but I have this and it is the best pan I've used. It's from the same family.

Non-stick is better quality than Tefal, Circulon and Scanpan.
    No pilling to date.
Just wash it in warm water and a non abrasive sponge and some detergent and it'll last years.

Note: I have an induction cook top.

  • Authentic Hand Hammered Wok, 14 Inch Carbon Steel Chinese Pow Wok, Traditional Round Bottom Wok by Mammafong is good.

    • Where do you order this from?
