Tuna & Cheese Go Well Together?

Does (canned) tuna & (melted) cheese go well together ?

I tried it recently and it was a bit funny on the way down.

Have you tried it and what is your conclusion.

Maybe this can be help to others who are thinking of trying.

(Please only vote is you have tried recently thanks).

I've never had turn and tomato before. Is that something you eat while driving?

I think they meant "tern", a delicious migratory bird.

Sure does but you got to throw in some tomato to spice up the party.

  • You didn’t give enough info. Was it fresh or canned tuna? What type of cheese? What kind of dish, was it a tomato and cheese bake or did you just whack some budget shredded cheese on a chunk of canned tuna and microwave it?

I’ve had both good and bad tuna with melted cheese.

    • If canned tuna, also need to know the brand and the style (e.g. in oil; in water; chilli; etc.)

    It's missing onion.

    • And pepper

  • And rice

  • canned tuna over hot rice and diced cucumber and mayonaise.

  • I always ask this question to people! I find that its a 50/50 split between yes and no.

My partner once offered me a tuna and cheese toastie. I could have projectile vomited at the thought of it.

Love tuna, but tuna and cheese is a hellll no.

    Pasta bake?

My mum mashes it with cream cheese, put it on half a wrap, fold, pan - fry. Delish!

Tuna pasta bake is a favourite. It's quite easy and a lot of supermarkets now sell white sauces for it. I've also added potato to it, and mixed in cheese and sprinkled it on top.

  • Tuna on toast with melted cheese, aka a tuna melt, is delicious 🤤

  • Red salmon is also very nice in a toastie.

    melted cheese.goes with anything

  • Tuna, cheese and mayo or aioli toastie is the go. Generally use tuna in olive oil or sweet chilli tuna. Sometimes with the tuna in oil, I add a little thinly sliced gherkin or dill cucumber etc.as well. i

  • Thanks for all the suggestions. I will give it another chance.

  • I love tuna and cheese!

I usually sautee the canned tuna in a pan first to break it up… Sprinkle in a bit of black pepper… Then, I load up the tuna on on some buttered bread with a slice of cheese in between and use a flat grill to toast it up.. Occasionally, I throw in some mashed potato as well… Perfect lazy brunch! :)

    • Thanks for sharing.

Tried this out today and it sounds revolting but doesn't taste half bad. I added some tomato sauce on top.

      • Haha.. Glad to hear that! :)

I haven't tried it with tomato sauce.. Might give it a go next time.. :)

  • Just made one with cheese and olive oil tuna, but used pesto mayo instead of plain mayo. Tasted great. Bought the pesto mayo from Aldi.
