Very good price for those tired of playing FIFA 20 where the gameplay is beyond horrible (well Ultimate Team at least). Last years version was meant to be free for the month of July 2019 yet due to negative feedback from the community they decided against it at the last second -somehow 2 simulators are fine though?! So highly doubt it will ever be free for psn plus members.

$23.97 for non psn plus members.

The next cheapest price you can get it for is $45 on disc @ Ozgameshop

      I'd argue it's the best football game ever made. Sure it lost the licencing rights to the Champions League and Europa League but the gameplay is just beyond anything I've ever played. For $8 this is incredible.

      For anyone who is keen on a change from FIFA I can't recommend this game enough. Just be warned it takes at least a few hours to really appreciate the difference. Lifetime FIFA fans will probably not like it immediately but I guarantee you'll change your tune after spending a good chunk of time with it.

        I second this. I've been playing football videogames since 1994 and from 1996 have been switching between FIFA and PES. The main points I'd like to raise is:
        - FIFA is for those who like Arcade style - passing is as easy as pointing and pressing a button. FUT is the peak of arcade football, whereas PES is much more of a simulator - passing needs you to know the foot, timing of the ball, how the player is positioned, preferred foot, skill, etc. FIFA considers this too, but in a much smaller scale.
        - Online servers for PES are terrible when compared to FIFA. This forced me into play 1P only, which to me is an advantage to manage my personal time better (FIFA sucked my time pretty bad). When I wish to play someone, I contact my mates and we play against each other.
        - FIFA has a lot more licensing but in PES you can load option files you find online with all the teams information updated. Personally I found that after a couple of weeks you kind of learn to "translate" the teams fine.
        - Another reason for switching was about getting mad at FIFA handicapping the game. Well, PES does it as well, to the same level or worse, even playing 1P. PES Legendary mode makes you feel like throwing your ps4 out of the window.

        ive said this since iss pro 98. PES has always had better gameplay than FIFA
        the lack of copyrights has hurt it, thats where EA has taken advantage of this and is seen as the better game solely for this reason.

      I actually thought this year was the best PES for ages. Although I only buy it every 2-3 years so for all I know 2019 might have been just as good.

      I feel they hit their peak with 2018. Still a great football game and gameplay has stayed consistent. If you haven't played PES in a few years, the price makes it an easy choice even for those sitting on the sidelines.
      They are also celebrating their 25th anniversary until July so they might give out more goodies esp for MyClub (ultimate team equivalent) which I feel isn't as good as last year and probably hasn't helped with the postponement to football leagues. The euro 2020 update was delayed but it's coming in June so that'll give it some legs.

      E-sports is a big deal but the competitions they have run and the live events don't interest me one bit.

    If I subscribe to PS Plus for a month, and then purchase this, will it still be accessible after I cancel my PS Plus? Essentially making the game 11.95+7.99 = 19.94?

      Yes, the game is yours to keep forever* as you've actually paid for it and not a ps+ monthly game. But obviously you won't be able to access its online multi-player features when you're not subscribed to ps+.

    Great price. Not going to start a war here; but having played FIFA for years and converting over to PES, it is definitely a few notches above in terms of 'on-pitch gameplay'. Option files make the loss of licensing a little less painful as well. Recommended for those that just want to play out seasons solo.

      Only if you're interested in the myClub mode, since I think all the extra stuff you get is for that mode. Personally, I only play Master League so that stuff would be a waste for me, and I'd just buy the standard version.

    Alright bugger ya, I will buy this afterall. Had it in my list before but talked myself out of it. Fifa20 is free with ea access, but I'd forgotten that the journey mode ended with 19, and with that I don't really care for the rest of the game (though the 3on3 is brilliant fun, like the underrated indoor mode from way back in 99).

    Haven't seriously played a pes since PS2, lol, though I've played all the free versions in the meantime.

          The other game is rumoured to be Star Wars Battlefront II, which I reckon is believable. We're only probably a day or two from getting the official word though, so may as well wait.

    PES 2020 should also be getting a Free EURO 2020 DLC Update on June 4th, so it's worth it if you are interested in that as well.

      That's weird that there doesn't seem to be a sale on for the console itself as part of the current Days Of Play promo. Lots of deals on games, controllers, PSVR, PS+, but not on the actual console.

    FIFA 2020 is absolute turd of a game. I've avoided the FIFA series since 2015, and it's safe to say 2020 is many times worse than 2015.

    I paid $19 for the game and feel ripped off.

    Gonna pick this up. Question for any current PES players: is the online matchmaking for myClub good? I tried the F2P "lite" version a few months ago and always took me 10+ minutes to find a match with a decent ping. Unsure if that was just the F2P version being a dud…

        Maybe I dont make it clear that I already own the games on PC and with that said Pes is not cross play so it makes pretty difficult to find online opponent

          If there's a game that needs cross play more then any other it's PES. It has such a small player base on every console or PC that it would make so much sense for them to have it.

      Took about 30 mins. Player's names are real by default I also noticed before the patch. Just stadium names, team names and kits weren't.
