The footy is back! So thought I'd share a way to get KFC cheaper than in-store menu prices. Some of us may already know about this but I'm sure some are still are unaware.

Open the KFC app and navigate to the 'Build your own bucket' menu. There you have a whole list of discounted menu items which includes;

  • 3 Chicken Pieces $5.95
  • 6 Chicken Pieces $8.95
  • 9 Chicken Pieces $11.95
  • 12 Chicken Pieces $14.95
  • 3 Wicked Wings $3.15
  • 6 Wicked Wings $5.45 $4.95 Price decreased 14th July
  • 6 Nuggets + 1 Sauce $4.95
  • 9 Nuggets + 1 Sauce $5.95
  • 12 Nuggets + 2 Sauces $6.95
  • 18 Nuggets + 3 Sauces $9.95

      Nope, you have to select 3 items.
      So you could throw on 2 of the breast fillets at $2.95 each for the cheapest option but the wicked wings are better value IMO.

      But 3 x 12 pieces would probably be the most economical, 36 pieces of chicken at just under $1.25 each.

      If you don't mind late dinner, order 9 pieces of chicken and 2x 3 wicked wings (~$18) at around 9pm. My local KFC stop frying wicked wings around 9pm so they will only charge me $11.95 for the 9 pieces of chicken.

      Unfortunately when ordering via the app, you no longer receive a receipt or any option to request to pay at the counter :(

        I have have been redeeming a code most times than not - so when they did the app order only (and no receipt) I had a code written from a previous receipt (not redeemed) I gave the code to the checkout chick and she gave me a receipt for $0 ( free chips and drink only) which I used the next time I ordered and so on and so forth. Just redeemed one last Saturday ( app order)

        I've compromised by getting the Burger Combo Deluxe for $7.45. I pretty much get a large zinger burger meal out of it because I order bottled water and choose both sides as chips which gets given to me as a large chips. Large zinger combo is usually $11.45.

        For comparison, zinger burger is $5.95 + free chips + drink, with the regular zinger combo usually costing $8.95. Comparable savings I'd say.

        But… maybe we can double dip if we use the tip above from @Maxdax?

        (yeah sucks now pre-pay only)
        but my latest receipt i didn't notice any mention of survey :o?

    Sure would be nice if the app hadn't been broken since daylight savings ended. Seems like they've screwed up something with verifying payments, trying to pay by credit card always gives "Your order could not be placed" and the pay-in-store option was removed due to the plague.
    The android app store reviews are full of people with the same issue.

      I've ordered a few times and never had this issue, always used paypal tho so that could be a way to fix your problem?

      Unfortunately my local store is povo and doesnt have build your own bucket option or cheap as chips on their menu :(

      My app stopped working after the last update in April. As soon as I attempt to add anything to my order it just resets the app an boots me back to the main menu. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling several times but no good :(

      Might have to start carrying my tablet around just to order fried chicken…..

        I've just been hassling staff at the counter to put things through manually. It can take a while if they're new because someone else has to show them how.

    $15 for 9 piece of chicken + 2 large sides at all shopping centre KFCs (Bring Home Dinner meal).

    I'd argue it's a better price. Note that it's only for shopping centre KFCs and not for stand-alone KFCs.

    You can get two boxes of chicken tempura Ingham chicken for $7.20, that's 40 pieces (800gm) of premium chicken at aldi's if you craving a hit.
