[WA] Issued a Clearway Infringement

Firstly, some background. I very recently started renting in the City of Subico and my house is on a road that is a clearway at peak times.

I parked my car on the road just outside my house. Clearway is 4:30 to 6 so I go to move my car and find I've already been ticketed at 4:31.

Would it be worth trying to ask the city for some leniency?

1 min over some arbitrary time. Crime of the century!

          • @gimme: Its not crime of the century but he wont go bankrupt if he pays the fine.

RULES ARE RULES FOR A REASON

            • @nikoris: Correct, but we disagree on the reason

              • @gimme: The time limits are there for a reason. It's also permanently published in bold letters on a giant sign post.

                  @CocaKoala: I know. Everything has a reason. Doesn't always mean it's a good one

              • @gimme: Of course you do, nobody is happy when parting their money.

                  • @gimme: It shows you know nothing about the internet. Its ok, might take a while depends on your IQ.

    Pay it.

Brighton Beach in Sydney is always good for a watch as the 3pm clearway commences. Daily lots of people on the beach are unaware & a small army of cops, council & towtrucks make light work of clearing it.

Hefty cost from what I understand, they are incredibly efficient and making the clearway a clearway day after day.

  • It's Subiaco.

Their basic policy is: absolutely (profanity) you. (profanity) everyone. But especially (profanity) you.

  • I once had my car towed 2 times within a week cos I forgot to move my car after 4.30, I was either sleeping or didn’t remember. I moved place soon after as there’s no way to own a car and live on a clearway street. Expensive lesson but I never have another clearway fine since. Good luck with the appeal but do something about it or you will get another one.

  • Tow trucks wait on st George's terrace and do the same thing. It's well enforced

    Pay the fine

Michael, this was me 12 years ago, back when I worked next to iiNet. The clear way you're talking about is the one that everyone parks, parallel to the tracks. Pay the fine and move on - we've blocked traffic enough for everyone else!

    • Ahhh i designed that iiNet fit out all those years ago

  • Can you please send those ticketing guys to Sydney?

Plenty of bastards blocking clearways with impunity over here.
