Cheapest on Ebay is about $900.
    Harvey Norman? Big No No.

i was thinking about getting one of these so i could use the same flash and kit lenses, but after using the a350, the colour and quality on the 350, isnt as good as the nikons and cannons…think im going to stick with the major brands next time.

PS comparing to harvey norman is like saying, ok we're not even trying on this one. everyone knows harvey norman is a rip off, beat the best on the net then we know your talking bargains.

    • We still got to compare with the big retailers and HV is still a big one.
We couldnt find it on the Jb site or Good guys either.

    • yeah, i think sony is better at making the little digital ones and the NEX series.

previously used a300 and using a33 now

colour wise, it's the matter of the processor.

I like it. I've seen others. Canon probably has the best colour for people photos whereas Sony seems more neutral.

Anyway a350 to a55 is a MASSIVE step up

      • thanks kazine, all my photos looked washed out. thinking about picking one up second hand. the a350 is pretty crisp, but as i said, just appears washed out… went for a drive half way round australia, some of the magnificint scenery was really let down by the camera.

        • scenery photos are better with pentax. I recommend Pentax K-R
But since it's a personal preference, you should really get the one with the colour you like

        • if you expect perfect photos straight out of a dSLR then you will be disappointed. All dSLR photos require post processing. If you don't want to do that then but a point and shoot or bridge camera. You can of course add sharpening/contrast/saturation in camera on dSLR but the results are never as good as post processing in photoshop/elements or even picasa.

        • hmm interesting thanks tight, thats quite surprising, but i have seen a friends point and shoot come out with much more vibrant shots than mine. so definatly gives something to think about… I still think the 350 is to blame though.

  • Good feedback im seeing here, what sort of SLRs would you prefer and want to see then?
