Just a tip, you will get the best bargains at the smaller outlets that wouldn't shift much stock. The busier/larger stores have basically cleared all of this already

      could be close to date

      • Wines doesn't 'go off'/have a expiry, same as sprits. Most other alcohol products have best before not use by

  • Do these have a big clearance ticket? Are they still on the shelf or in their own area…?

    • +1

mostly in a clearance section, with yellow tickets saying "WHILE STOCKS LAST". A few also just on the regular shelves or in fridge, also with yellow tickets

    • not in their own area, they have s special tag on the shelf, different to their normal tag, should have taken a photo the guy explained it to me ….. vintage cellars, 3 rock central otago pinot reduced from $40 to 19.99 …. doesn't taste $40, but tastes better than $20.

Locals do seem to find the bargains.

Depends on the store. Some have clearance shelves. Depends on the store manager.

stores with a back end display were typically meant to use that as display, but not all stores have them, etc. my own store uses a mobile 4-side stand/unit, and earlier on half of our sparkling wine range had to make room for the early stuff.

these clearance ranges have been going on for a while, so it's possible that some stores no longer have enough stock to fill the back end so they have done something else.

beresford shiraz for $10 seems to be incredibly popular, a few people are clearing out all stores in the local area

@Jvin: Went to 5 different stores in Vic (Southland, Highett, Brighton etc) & bought a total of 21 bottles, average price $5. Absolute bargain.
